AP News reports that two National Guard soldiers were shot point-blank just outside the White House perimeter at 17th & H NW.
President Trump has responded, saying both soldiers have been critically wounded by the “animal that shot the two National Guardsmen” and said the attacker “will pay a very steep price.” The president’s words at this point imply a lone shooter in custody.
The conditions of the soldiers are not yet known.
Dramatic image from the scene:
“The White House is aware and actively monitoring this tragic situation. The President has been briefed,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt told NewsNation’s Libbey Dean.
The suspect is reportedly in custody, according to an X post by DC Police.

Loaves and Fishes to expand food distribution center in Aurora despite city’s warehouse moratorium
Loaves and Fishes Community Services is set to expand its food distribution center in Aurora, despite a temporary pause on warehouses in the city, after the Aurora City Council recently approved an exception for the food pantry.
Included in the 180-day moratorium on warehouses and data centers, which was passed by the Aurora City Council in September, is a hardship appeal process for those who had already made substantial investments into a development but weren’t able to apply before the moratorium went into effect. Loaves and Fishes is so far the only organization to have gone through that appeals process.
Mike Havala, the nonprofit’s president and CEO, told the Aurora City Council on Nov. 25 that his organization was working to expand its food distribution hub at 580 Exchange Court when the moratorium came down. Loaves and Fishes is the state’s largest food pantry, he said, and about half of the 10,000 people it serves each week are from Aurora.
In the last four years since the hub opened, the nonprofit has tripled the number of people it serves and expanded the area it serves people in while reducing related costs by 40%, Havala said. Expanding the hub will help the organization’s work in collaborating with other nonprofits and will help it be agile in responding to things like when SNAP benefits weren’t being paid during the recent federal government shutdown, he said.
The expansion is expected to take the food distribution hub from 30,000 square feet to around 62,000 square feet with four times the amount of cold storage space and three times the amount of dry storage space, according to Havala. He said the roughly $8 million investment will double or triple the number of people currently being served.
Land was purchased for the expansion project in 2023, and much of this year has been spent engineering the project, Havala said. The organization was close to submitting an application for its permit, he said, when the moratorium in Aurora was put in place at the end of September.
Already, the nonprofit has invested $4.1 million plus two-and-a-half years into the project, according to Havala. He said delays due to the moratorium could cause further funding to fall through, among other impacts.
To go through the temporary moratorium’s hardship appeals process, an applicant has to prove that the moratorium has or will cause an economic hardship on them, that they can’t get a reasonable return on the property if the project isn’t allowed, that substantial investment was made before the moratorium without knowing it was going to happen, that the project would be allowed in this area if not for the moratorium and that the project follows all other city codes, according to Aurora Director of Zoning and Planning Tracey Vacek.
The Aurora City Council unanimously approved Loaves and Fishes’ exception to the moratorium at the meeting Nov. 25. Construction on the project is expected to start in 2026 and be done by 2027, according to Havala.
The moratorium was put in place to give staff time to research ways to mitigate the various impacts of data centers, which are currently classified as warehouses under the city’s code, then report recommendations for new guidelines back to City Council. At the time, staff cited an increased number of applications and residents’ concerns with existing facilities as reasons for needing the temporary pause on the approval of data center and warehouse proposals.
The temporary moratorium is in effect until late March 2026 but could be extended an additional 30 days. Aurora Mayor John Laesch previously said that the moratorium could be shorter if a code change is drafted before the end of the six-month pause, and city staff members said they will be presenting an update in 90 days.
During the moratorium, the city isn’t accepting or approving applications for new data center or warehouse developments or expansions of existing facilities, though there are several exceptions to this rule, such as the hardship appeals process Loaves and Fishes went through.
Also exempted are projects with completed applications filed before the moratorium went into effect, routine maintenance or repairs at existing data centers that do not increase capacity and public safety or emergency facilities operated by government bodies. There is also a conditional processing of new applications for developers with time-sensitive projects, but those applications will need to be modified to fit any new regulations that may eventually be passed by the Aurora City Council, staff previously said.
The ultimate goal of the temporary moratorium is to clarify the data center and warehouse development process while making sure that long-term community and environmental impacts are addressed before construction. Staff have said that any new rules eventually adopted would not apply to those developments with applications submitted before the moratorium was approved.

Is A Trump UFO Bombshell Incoming?
Is A Trump UFO Bombshell Incoming?
Authored by Steve Watson via Modernity.news,
Documentary filmmaker Dan Farah has boldly predicted that President Trump could be the first world leader to spill the beans on UFOs, dropping a “major announcement” about non-human tech and extraterrestrial intel—sparking feverish speculation: Is this engineered hype to divert from global flashpoints, or a seismic shift toward transparency?
Farah made the claim on Joe Rogan’s podcast while promoting a new documentary titled The Age of Disclosure. As Farah teases amnesty for black-budget insiders, is Trump poised to unmask aliens, or is this another misdirect?
Farah asserted: “I wouldn’t be surprised if it happens soon after the film comes out — the sitting president has to step to the microphone and say: humanity is not alone in the universe. We have recovered technology of non-human origin. So have other nations. There is a high-stakes, secret cold war race to reverse engineer this technology. We need to win this race.”
UFO expert Dan Farah just told Joe Rogan he believes a sitting president will finally come clean about the UAP phenomenon…and he thinks that president will be Donald Trump.
Then he dropped a bombshell about what Trump has already tasked Tulsi Gabbard with investigating.… pic.twitter.com/TsMb2WRm2q

Rogan quipped, “I think Trump might be the only guy that’s willing to do something that crazy.”
Farah replied: “I know he is aware of what people in his administration say in the film… And I know that they are discussing internally how they’re going to react to the film publicly.”
The filmmaker also claimed that Trump was contemplating basic disclosure during his first tenure as President and has now tasked United States Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard with getting to the bottom of what is gong on with the UFO/UAP phenomenon.
Throughout the podcast he detailed how insiders have revealed to him that there have been multiple UFO contact events with the U.S. military, including multiple face to face encounters with non-human entities.

Full interview here:
Farah’s call for “amnesty” for UFO cover-up insiders mirrors Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s previous on-camera plea: “I’m not trying to punish anyone. I need to know what they learned, because taxpayers paid for this and it’s in our interest to know what’s going on.”
But is this real reckoning or red herring? Intelligence Whistleblower Edward Snowden’s warned in 2023 that such flaps are “engineered” to bury scandals like Nord Stream.
“I wish it were aliens,” but it’s bait to “wipe the infinitely more awkward Seymour Hersh story from the headlines,” he noted at the time.
Farah also claimed that according to insiders, over a trillion dollars has been poured into “reverse-engineering” recovered craft.
Ex-intel officer Luis Elizondo’s 2024 drone-UFO intercept revelations—“true UAP events followed by a Department of Defense response”—have hinted at a hidden arms race.
In 2023 the NSC claimed that UAPs are having a “real impact” on pilots—claiming “there’s something our pilots are seeing.”
White House National Security Council Coordinator, Admiral John Kirby was asked about Senator Schumer’s UAP legislation. ?

— UAP News (@HighPeaks77) July 17, 2023
Under Trump, could this be significant truth-telling, unearthing black-budget secrets? Or, as Snowden posited, another “distraction” from wars or woes?
Farah’s hope—Trump as the “only guy” wild enough—clashes with skeptics seeing psyop.

‘Seditious Six’ Democrats Freak Out Over FBI Investigation
‘Seditious Six’ Democrats Freak Out Over FBI Investigation
Democrats are losing it after the Trump administration opened an investigation into six Democratic lawmakers following the posting of a Nov. 18 social-media video in which they advised U.S. service members that they are obligated to follow lawful, not illegal, orders under the Uniform Code of Military Justice.
The video – featuring lawmakers with national security backgrounds – reflected a familiar line of Democratic criticism of President Donald Trump during his term: questioning the president’s adherence to constitutional constraints and norms of military authority.
We want to speak directly to members of the Military and the Intelligence Community.
The American people need you to stand up for our laws and our Constitution.
Don’t give up the ship. pic.twitter.com/N8lW0EpQ7r
— Sen. Elissa Slotkin (@SenatorSlotkin) November 18, 2025
On Monday, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said he may take disciplinary action against Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), who participated in the video and served as a U.S. Navy captain and astronaut before entering public office. Hegseth directed Navy Secretary John Phelan to review Kelly’s remarks and provide guidance by Dec. 10.
The video made by the “Seditious Six” was despicable, reckless, and false. Encouraging our warriors to ignore the orders of their Commanders undermines every aspect of “good order and discipline.” Their foolish screed sows doubt and confusion — which only puts our warriors in danger.
Five of the six individuals in that video do not fall under @DeptofWar jurisdiction (one is CIA and four are former military but not “retired”, so they are no longer subject to UCMJ). However, Mark Kelly (retired Navy Commander) is still subject to UCMJ—and he knows that. -Pete Hegseth
The following day, all six lawmakers said the FBI had asked to interview them. In addition to Kelly, the Democrats are: Reps. Jason Crow of Colorado, a former Army officer; Chrissy Houlahan of Pennsylvania, a former Air Force captain; Chris Deluzio of Pennsylvania, a former Navy lieutenant who served in Iraq; Maggie Goodlander of New Hampshire, a Navy reserve veteran; and Sen. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, who previously worked at the CIA. Slotkin said the outreach came from the FBI’s counterterrorism division, Punchbowl News reports.
“No amount of intimidation or harassment will ever stop us from doing our jobs and honoring our Constitution,” the four House members said in a joint statement. The FBI declined to comment on the agency’s inquiry.
While Kelly remains subject to court-martial as a retired naval officer, pursuing charges against a sitting senator for public remarks would have little historical precedent. The matter could ultimately require judicial interpretation.
The case raises constitutional questions, particularly under Article I, which affords lawmakers certain protections for statements made in the course of legislative – or in some interpretations, public – duties. Legal scholars note that this dynamic may force the courts to balance military conduct statutes with congressional speech protections.
GOP Reaction and Divisions
With Congress out of session for Thanksgiving, Republican lawmakers have been slow to offer comment, though two GOP senators voiced immediate concern about the inquiry.
Sen. John Curtis (R-UT) said he respects Kelly personally, while Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) said that “to accuse him and other lawmakers of treason and sedition for rightfully pointing out that servicemembers can refuse illegal orders is reckless and flat-out wrong.”
On Truth Social, Mr. Trump reacted sharply to the video, accusing the Democratic lawmakers of “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!” He also amplified a user repost calling for their hanging.
The controversy emerges at a time when both Hegseth and FBI Director Kash Patel face heightened internal scrutiny. Hegseth’s authority has been unusually overshadowed by Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, a Yale Law acquaintance of Vice President JD Vance. Driscoll has been tasked with exploring diplomatic channels in Ukraine amid ongoing hostilities with Russia.
Patel, meanwhile, has drawn criticism for deploying local FBI tactical resources for personal security purposes involving his girlfriend. MSNOW reported that Patel’s tenure atop the FBI “may be numbered,” however the Trump administration pushed back, with Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt posting on X: “This story is completely made up. In fact, when this Fake News published, I was in the Oval Office, where President Trump was meeting with his law enforcement team, including FBI Director Kash Patel.”
Trump later said that Patel is “doing a great job.”
Politically, Hegseth’s posture may inadvertently bolster Kelly, who is considered by some Democrats as a potential 2028 presidential contender. But the public exposure has carried risk for the Democrats involved: several have reported an escalation in threats. Slotkin now receives security protection from Capitol Police.

ORCHARD PARK, Nueva York, EE.UU.

Trinity Christian College professors team with organizers to harness history to uplift communities
History professors at Trinity Christian College are teaming up with community leaders to learn how past problems have challenged struggling areas and what can be done to uplift them.
Their work is taking place even as the college in Palos Heights is facing closure at the end of the school year because the educators are hoping to carry on the college’s tradition of helping the world around them.
It’s work that’s already paying dividends.
LoLita Canady, president of the Rosemoor Community Association, who was born in nearby Roseland, said knowing the history of disinvested areas is a step toward creating a vision of “what the community should look like.”
“Knowing something like this is valuable for the community to understand,” she said, “how these ecosystems work and change some of the devastation that’s happened.”
Canady was just one of the panelists at the recent “History for Community Organizing” talk at Trinity.
Also participating were History Department chair David Brodnax Sr., The Learning Tree founder De’Amon Harges and Trinity assistant history professor Sky Michael Johnston, who organized the event and moderated the discussion.
“The idea is that if we all get together, historians can learn from the perspective of civic leaders of Chicago what would be helpful for them to know from historians,” Johnston said. “I would say the ultimate goal would be to have these valuable resources available to the next generation of civic leaders and model collaboration.”
While Johnston pointed out the discussions were only a first step, he explained how they might eventually lead to change.
He said people recognize Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago as The Magnificent Mile, but the stretch of Michigan Avenue in Roseland and Rosemoor was also once bustling. That historical image can be “a beautiful vision here for bringing that back,” Johnston said.
Brodnax, the history department chair, said recognizing the history and reasons behind a community’s struggles could eventually pave the way for improvement. He cited Evanston, where restrictive zoning or “redlining,” restricted home financing and availability to people of color. Opening a window on that history led to Evanston officials offering financial help for Black people and their direct descendants who had experienced those restrictions.
“It led to a policy change that addresses a previous wrong,” said Brodnax.
He also pointed to how historians and community organizers could work together.
“Historians are not always directly involved in community problem solving, while community organizers are not always directly involved in studying how the past helped create present issues that they are trying to address. In spite of this, many historians have a deep love and concern for the communities that we study,” Brodnax said. “And many community organizers have a personal interest in the history of the places that they serve. For all these reasons, it makes sense that the two groups would share their knowledge and insights to take part in the common goal of community uplift.”
Harges, who was community convener at Trinity’s Center for Transformative Neighborhoods, said the college had recognized the need to diversify and make education more affordable by previously cutting the tuition by 40% and reaching out to lower income communities on the south side.
“I went out into those communities and found people who were agents and cared about bettering their communities through education,” he said, adding Canady was one of them. “It’s identifying gifts and dreams of people in these communities.”
The conversation could carry on, even after the college shuts down. Johnston said he has applied for a National Endowment for the Humanities – Humanities Initiatives at Colleges and Universities grant.
If the grant comes through, a panel of eight historians would meet next summer with civic leaders and community organizers in Chicago, said Johnston. The panel would also design and write six course plans, a peer-reviewed journal article and present their findings about the project at the American Historical Association in January of 2028.

Two National Guard members shot in Washington
WASHINGTON — A suspect is in custody in the shooting of National Guard members in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, police said.
Two guard soldiers were shot near the White House and their conditions aren’t immediately known, according to two law enforcement officials not authorized to discuss the matter publicly and who spoke to AP on condition of anonymity.
Emergency vehicles were seen responding to the area and at least one helicopter landed on the National Mall.
The Joint DC Task Force confirmed they were responding to an incident in the vicinity of the White House in the movements after reports of the shooting. However, the spokesperson wouldn’t immediately confirm or deny if any National Guard members had been shot.
The Metropolitan Police Department said they were responding to a shooting but didn’t immediately provide more information.
A spokesperson for Mayor Muriel Bowser said that local leaders were actively monitoring the situation. The mayor was in the city when the incident occurred.
President Donald Trump was at his West Palm Beach golf course when the shooting took place.
“The White House is aware and actively monitoring this tragic situation. The President has been briefed,” said White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.
Hundreds of National Guard members from the district and several states have been patrolling the nation’s capital after President Donald Trump in August issued an emergency order in the capital, federalizing the local police force and sending in the guard from eight states and the District of Columbia.

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida, EE.UU.
