Egipto e Irán critican el partido del “Orgullo” del Mundial planeado en Seattle

As for your fiancé’s point of view, that’s understandable, as well. Blending families, especially after the death of a spouse, can be tricky. Your fiancé may feel that continuing to spend holidays with your former father-in-law is a reminder of your past, and that may bring up uncomfortable feelings for him.
So, what’s good ex-etiquette?
It’s perfectly acceptable to still care for and nurture relationships with people from your past, but the foundation of your relationship with your fiancé must also be nurtured. Start by having an honest conversation with your fiancé about your reasons for wanting to continue spending time with your former father-in-law. Let him know that you are not choosing your past over your present. It’s not about one relationship winning over another; it’s about blending compassion, sensitivity and mutual respect.
How do you honor both relationships, the one you lost and the one you’re building?
1. Create an All-Inclusive Plan
You don’t have to choose between your fiancé and your former father-in-law. Instead, decide together how to make room for both. That might mean spending the main holiday with your fiancé and visiting your father-in-law earlier in the day or the day before or hosting a small holiday coffee gathering so your father-in-law is included without dominating the entire celebration. This shows your fiancé that you’re committed to your future together while still showing compassion toward someone who has essentially been family for years and is now alone.
2. Reframe It for Your Fiancé
Sometimes partners feel threatened because they don’t understand the why behind the tradition. Explain it gently and clearly. You could say something like:
“I want you to know that my feelings for my late husband are not in competition with my life with you. My father-in-law is 80. He has lost both his son and his wife, and I’m one of the few people he has left. Spending a little time with him during the holidays is about compassion, not clinging to the past. And I want us to figure out a way to do that together, so everyone feels respected — especially you.”

The kid came back the next day with a smile on his face. I overheard him saying that he just rode bikes all day and that it was “awesome.” Knowing this family, this came as no surprise. I feel bad because in telling the principal about it, I caused this situation to happen, but we are required to hand threats to administrators. What do I do the next time this happens? It will happen again.
Answer: Your school’s policies and actions here represent Dark Ages thinking about discipline, and if these policies and actions are not changed, your school will systematically and consistently reinforce negative and even dangerous negative behavior.
AND…THIS IS NOT YOUR SCHOOL’S FAULT.
You couldn’t really blame a medieval doctor in 1107 for not curing your migraine. Similarly, your school is doing its best with what it has: Dark Ages thinking about discipline, spawned by the behavior management void created by the failure of teacher preparation programs to teach behavior management.
Though some schools have a rule like your school does about physical threats being reported to administration (as they should be), far fewer schools have a rule that says that the admin must take action and that the teacher is not allowed to take action. So, if the principal is required to suspend kids, fine. Regardless, in addition to or instead of administrator action, ask if you could take the following action the next time there is a threat. And yes, do it when they come back from their suspension (if that action is required). Also, do your detective work to make sure the threat actually happened.
Kid Whisperer: Yikes. That was rough yesterday when you threatened to beat up Kid #1.
Kid #2: That kid is a liar!
Kid Whisperer: Yikes. I don’t argue. So, you caused a major problem for Kid #1 in that you made him feel unsafe. That’s not allowed. So, now you are in charge of making Kid #1 feel safe. It’s all up to you. Do you already have a plan for how to make Kid #1 feel safe?
Kid #2: No, frankly.
Kid Whisperer: No worries. Here’s my plan for you. You have to come up with a plan to make Kid #1 feel safe. I am happy to help you with this plan as long as you are working harder than I am. Here in the classroom, during recess, will be your spot to work on the plan until you are done or until the school year ends, whichever comes first.
Kid #2: Until the school year ends!? It’s only January!
Kid Whisperer: Yikes. I hear you. I’ll still like you whether or not you get the plan done. I believe in you!

Kid #2 might or might not start working on the plan. IT DOES NOT MATTER. Either way, Kid #2 will be learning important lessons, which is great, since this will take place in a school. Either he makes the plan, and he learns that if he causes a problem for someone, he must solve that problem before he moves on with his life, or, if he refuses to solve the problem, he learns that he will miss out on social elements of life until he solves the problem. If at first he refuses to solve the problem, Kid #2 will learn the most important lesson of his life: that refusing a reasonable request from an adult authority figure does not get you out of responsibilities and does not get you what you want.

A cargo of crude oil from sanctioned Russian giant Rosneft has made an 11-week-long meandering trip around Europe and Asia in search of buyers and although it has anchored off a sanctioned Chinese import port, it’s not certain it has reached its final destination yet.
The Fortis tanker with about 700,000 barrels of now sanctioned Russian oil dropped anchor near the Chinese port of Rizhao on the east coast on Tuesday, tanker-tracking data compiled by Bloomberg showed.
The Fortis did not make the entire trip from Russia’s western port on the Baltic Sea. The crude cargo from Rosneft began the journey on the Ailana tanker from the Russian export terminal of Ust-Luga at the end of September.
Following a trip around Europe into the Mediterranean, and through the Suez Canal, the Ailana arrived near India at the end of October.
But by then the U.S. had already slapped sanctions on top Russian oil producer Rosneft and the second-largest, Lukoil, to force Russia to genuine talks about ending the war in Ukraine.
India stopped importing any crude known to have originated from or handled by affiliates of Rosneft and Lukoil to avoid angering the Trump Administration further.
So the Ailana idled off Mumbai for two weeks, according to Bloomberg’s ship-tracking. Then most of the cargo was transferred onto the Fortis tanker which had shown destinations in India and South Korea before anchoring off the Rizhao port, which the U.S. Treasury also sanctioned in October as part of the pressure campaign on China over its purchases of Iranian crude.
Despite being very close to the Rizhao port, it’s not certain the Fortis would offload the cargo there, according to Bloomberg.
The three-month long trip and the ship-to-ship (STS) transfer suggest that buyers, especially in India, are steering clear of the sanctioned Russian companies and their cargoes.
The U.S. sanctions on Rosneft and Lukoil upended all previous plans by Indian refiners, who hastened to withdraw from the spot market for Russian crude in December.
India’s Bharat Petroleum and India Oil Corporation have bought Russian crude from non-sanctioned companies for January delivery, at a discount of $6-$7 to Brent crude, reports emerged last week.

I had a black leather shirt literally collecting dust in the back of my closet after an impulse (bargain) buy on a trip to Buenos Aires. It looks fantastic and on-trend now and I get compliments.
Wide leg jeans are flying off thrift and vintage store racks and women are kicking themselves for donating theirs in a closet purge 10 or more years ago. Ditto ruffled shirts and blouses. Brown in all its shades is high style for fall/winter.

At a moment the Russia-Ukraine war grinds on, and as Trump-led efforts to find peace have been frustrated – largely as Zelensky and his backers have balked at agreeing to any territorial compromise as the bases of a deal – Germany is busy transforming its military with an aim to boost Bundeswehr numbers and meet NATO targets.
That news dominated headlines last week, but added to this Bloomberg is newly reporting Tuesday that the troop expansion will coincide with a major tech and armament expansion, given lawmakers are expected to approve a record €52 billion (about $61 billion) in military procurement contracts next week.
This will mark the largest single-year investment in defense equipment in the country’s history, underscoring Berlin’s renewed push to modernize its armed forces amid the growing European standoff with Russia.
As for 2025 numbers, prior approvals brought total defense commitments for this year to above €33 billion. So next year’s could more than double, based on the new projected figures.
Much of the money is expected to flow to German defense manufacturers, including major firms like Heckler & Koch and Rheinmetall, both long well-known known for their advanced military equipment.
The new procurement package covers 73 major projects aimed at upgrading the Bundeswehr. Examples of key items slated for purchase include:

La líder opositora venezolana Machado no asistirá a la ceremonia del Nobel de la Paz

OSLO, Noruega (AP) — La ganadora del Nobel de la Paz, María Corina Machado, no asistirá a la ceremonia de entrega de premios en Oslo el miércoles, según anunció esa misma mañana el director del Instituto del Nobel.
El director del Instituto, Kristian Berg Harpviken, comentó a la emisora pública NRK que la líder opositora venezolana no se encontraba en la capital noruega el día de la ceremonia y que su hija aceptará el premio en nombre de Machado.
El día anterior, se canceló una conferencia de prensa a la que se esperaba que asistiera Machado. Su última aparición pública fue hace 11 meses.
Machado se ocultó y no ha sido vista en público desde el 9 de enero, cuando fue brevemente detenida tras unirse a simpatizantes en una protesta en Caracas, la capital de Venezuela.
El galardón a la opositora de 58 años por su lucha para lograr una transición democrática en su nación sudamericana se anunció el 10 de octubre. El comité la describió como una mujer “que mantiene viva la llama de la democracia en medio de una creciente oscuridad”.
