EAST RUTHERFORD, Nueva Jersey (AP) — J.J. After having his entire rookie year wiped out by a torn meniscus in his right knee, the 2024 No. 10 pick has missed time this season because of a concussion and a sprained right ankle.
The Giants (2-13) lost their ninth consecutive game and fifth since Mike Kafka took over as interim coach when Brian Daboll was fired on Nov. 10. They have not won since Oct. 9.
Rookie QB Jaxson Dart did not attempt a pass until 1:44 left in the second quarter and finished 7 of 13 for 33 yards and his fifth career interception, which came when his throw bounced off Theo Johnson’s hands and into Byron Murphy’s. Dart was sacked five times, including by Andrew Van Ginkel on fourth and 3 with two minutes left.
Ben Saul made two field goals in his debut, and New York’s only TD was Nubin’s scoop and score. The offense’s longest play was 18 yards, and Darius Slayton’s drop late elicited boos from some of the fans who remained in the stands at the Meadowlands.
Injuries
Vikings: Running back Jordan Mason was carted to the locker room after injuring an ankle in the first quarter. … Center Ryan Kelly was concussed in the second. It’s his third this season and the sixth documented concussion of his NFL career.
Giants: Left tackle Andrew Thomas limped off early in the second quarter because of a hamstring injury. … Center John Michael Schmitz injured his right hand in the third. The departures of Thomas and Schmitz put the offensive line down three starters, with Jon Runyan Jr. scratched for personal reasons. … Cornerback Cor’Dale Flott left with a knee injury, and Nubin received medical attention in the fourth quarter.

PARÍS (AP) — Francia construirá un nuevo portaaviones con capacidad para 30 aviones de combate y 2.000 marineros, anunció el domingo el presidente Emmanuel Macron, en lo que describió como “la demostración del poder de nuestra nación al servicio de la libertad en los mares y en medio de la turbulencia de nuestros tiempos”.
“En una era de depredadores, debemos ser fuertes para ser temidos, y especialmente fuertes en el mar. Por eso, en línea con las dos últimas leyes de programación militar, y tras una revisión exhaustiva y cuidadosa, he decidido equipar a Francia con un nuevo portaaviones. La decisión de iniciar la construcción de este programa de gran envergadura se tomó esta semana”, les dijo Macron a los soldados franceses emplazados en Abu Dabi.
Se planea que el nuevo buque esté listo en 2038, reemplazando al envejecido portaaviones Charles de Gaulle, que entró en servicio en 2001. Tendrá un desplazamiento de aproximadamente 78.000 toneladas y una eslora de 310 metros (1.017 pies), en comparación con las 42.000 toneladas y 261 metros (856 pies) del Charles de Gaulle.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison came under fire for blaming two car manufacturers for a surge in vehicle thefts across the state, with critics arguing the problem stemmed from lenient, soft-on-crime policies instead.
The backlash followed Ellison’s framing of a multi-state settlement, in which he claimed Minnesota faced a “crisis,” describing it as a “public safety epidemic of vehicle thefts, financial harm to consumers, injury and tragically, even deaths.”

Ellison’s comments followed a settlement between Hyundai and Kia and a coalition of 35 states plus the District of Columbia, after Minnesota launched an investigation into the automakers’ weak anti-theft technology.
The settlement includes up to $4.5 million in restitution for eligible consumers and an additional $4.5 million for states that investigated the thefts.
The car theft trend went viral on social media after the so-called “Kia Boys” began posting videos purportedly showing how easily they stole certain Kia and Hyundai models.
According to the Minnesota Attorney General’s Office, thefts involving Kia and Hyundai were linked to at least five homicides, 13 shootings and 36 robberies.
“These are not just numbers; they represent a public safety crisis that has caused substantial and serious harm to the people of Minnesota,” the office said in a statement.
Ellison claimed the thefts were the product of automakers failing to implement anti-theft technology that was made available in vehicles sold in Mexico and Canada.
Several Republican attorneys general joined the lawsuit, including those of New Hampshire, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma and South Dakota.

US says talks with Ukraine, Europe on ending war with Russia ‘constructive’
A White House envoy said Sunday he held “productive and constructive” talks in Florida with Ukrainian and European representatives to end the nearly four-year war between Russia and Ukraine.
Posting on social media, Steve Witkoff said the talks aimed at aligning on a shared strategic approach between Ukraine, the United States and Europe.
“Our shared priority is to stop the killing, ensure guaranteed security, and create conditions for Ukraine’s recovery, stability, and long-term prosperity. Peace must be not only a cessation of hostilities, but also a dignified foundation for a stable future,” U.S. President Donald Trump’s envoy said.
The talks are part of the Trump administration’s monthslong push for peace. Trump has unleashed an extensive diplomatic push to end the war, but his efforts have run into sharply conflicting demands by Moscow and Kyiv. Putin has recently signaled he is digging in on his maximalist demands on Ukraine, as Moscow’s troops inch forward on the battlefield despite huge losses.
Positive assessments
Witkoff’s assessment comes as negotiations have been proceeding with Russia as well. A Kremlin envoy said Saturday that the talks were pressing on “constructively” in Florida.
“The discussions are proceeding constructively. They began earlier and will continue today, and will also continue tomorrow,” Kirill Dmitriev told reporters in Miami on Saturday. There were no immediate updates on the talks with Russia on Sunday.
Dmitriev met with Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, Russian state news agency RIA Novosti reported.
For Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on Telegram Sunday that diplomatic efforts were “moving forward quite quickly, and our team in Florida has been working with the American side.”
The Kremlin denied Sunday that trilateral talks involving Ukraine, Russia and the U.S. were under discussion, after Zelenskyy said Saturday that Washington had proposed the idea of three-way discussions.
“At present, no one has seriously discussed this initiative, and to my knowledge it is not being prepared,” Russian President Vladimir Putin’s foreign affairs adviser Yuri Ushakov said, according to Russian state news agencies.
Ukrainian civilians moved to Russia
In Ukraine, the country’s human rights ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets on Sunday accused Russian forces of forcibly removing about 50 Ukrainian civilians from the Ukrainian Sumy border region to Russian territory.
Writing on Telegram, he said that Russian forces illegally detained the residents in the village of Hrabovske on Thursday, before moving them to Russia on Saturday.
Lubinets said he contacted Russia’s human rights commissioner, requesting information on the civilians’ whereabouts and conditions, and demanding their immediate return to Ukraine.
Possible French-Russian talks
The French presidency on Sunday welcomed Putin’s willingness to speak with President Emmanuel Macron, saying it would decide how to proceed “in the coming days.”
“As soon as the prospect of a ceasefire and peace negotiations becomes clearer, it becomes useful again to speak with Putin,” Macron’s office said in a statement. “It is welcome that the Kremlin publicly agrees to this approach.”
The statement came after reports that Putin was open to holding talks with the French president if there was mutual political will.
European Union leaders agreed on Friday to provide 90 billion euros ($106 billion) to Ukraine to meet its military and economic needs for the next two years, although they failed to bridge differences with Belgium that would have allowed them to use frozen Russian assets to raise the funds. Instead, they were borrowed from capital markets.

So what do we do? We as Americans have to stand proudly for freedom and understand that a free society cannot survive if it refuses to defend itself. We don’t preserve freedom of speech by cancelling it. We preserve free speech by exercising it, by using more of it, encouraging more speech. We protect our Constitution by ensuring loyalty to the Constitution. We protect our democratic republic by ensuring that we the people elect leaders who not only believe in American values but actually live them—leaders who are committed to ensuring that we have a government of, by, and for the people, and leaders who most importantly put freedom and the interests and well-being of the American people first in every single decision that they make.

Gabbard’s warning comes weeks after Secretary of State Marco Rubio discussed the threat radical Islam poses to the West in a Fox News interview.
Rubio warned:
Ultimately, all radical Islamic movements in the world identify the West writ large—but the United States in particular—as the greatest evil on Earth.
Radical Islam has shown that their desire isn’t simply to occupy one part of the world and be happy with its own little caliphate. They want to expand. It’s revolutionary in its nature; it seeks to expand and control more territories.
Radical Islam has its sights set openly on the West—on the United States, Europe. We’ve seen that progress there as well.
They are prepared to conduct acts of terrorism. In the case of Iran, nation-state actions: assassinations, murders—you name it, whatever it takes for them to expand their influence.
That is a clear, imminent threat to the world and to the broader West, but especially the United States, whom they identify as the chief source of evil on the planet.

The warnings from Gabbard and Rubio follow President Trump’s action to designate the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) as a foreign terrorist organization (FTO).
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton have designated the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as an FTO and transnational criminal organization.
Perhaps it’s time for the Trump administration to dig into the nonprofit world where these radical Islamists are hiding.
Let’s not forget that former CIA targeting officer Sarah Adams has warned that the Biden-Harris regime’s open southern border allowed an estimated “10,000 foreign Islamist terrorists” to enter the country.

He added, “The Committee therefore requests documents and communications showing what your administration knew about this fraud and whether you took action to limit or halt the investigation into this widespread fraud.”

Adding fuel to the fire, Trump advisor Stephen Miller framed the scandal’s scale on Fox News, comparing it to Somalia’s GDP and blasting the importation of criminal elements.
“Well, first of all, regarding the situation in Minnesota, by the way, not just Minnesota — we have Somali refugees that were dumped here by Democrats in Ohio and Massachusetts. Let me just say we should not be shocked. When you import a population whose primary occupation is pirate, that they are going to come here and steal everything we have,” Miller said.
“Somalia has this giant coastline, and the only industry they have created, after hundreds of years is piracy, stealing what anyone going through who has actually built something has made. So, yes, the pirates have stolen all of our money, and they have to go home, Jesse. That’s the situation we’re in right now,” Miller further urged.
Miller continued: “So he has presided over — this corrupt, incompetent loser has presided over the largest theft of American taxpayer dollars in history. It’s never been equal before. The amount of money that’s been stolen is larger than the entire GDP of Somalia. In other words, the Somalians they brought here have theft and more than all the Somalians in Somalia have ever created for themselves in all the time that has existed up until now.”
“So there needs to be a lot of people going to jail. And I can promise you, the Department of Justice is launching an investigation that is commensurate in force and in purpose with the scope, scale, size and magnitude of this controversy,” Miller declared.
