Green Bay Packers activate WR Jayden Reed from IR before NFC North battle against Chicago Bears

GREEN BAY — Green Bay wide receiver Jayden Reed has been activated from injured reserve, clearing the way for him to play for the first time in nearly three months when the Packers play host to the NFC North-leading Chicago Bears on Sunday.

The Packers (8-3-1) announced the activation of Reed in one of a series of moves Saturday. They also claimed defensive lineman Quinton Bohanna off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks and released wide receiver Malik Heath.

Reed hasn’t played since suffering a shoulder injury in the Packers’ second game of the season, a 27-18 victory over the Washington Commanders on Sept. 11. The injury occurred as he was making a diving touchdown catch that was nullified by a penalty.

Reed, 25, underwent surgeries on his shoulder and foot later that month. He had caught three passes for 45 yards and a touchdown before getting injured.

5 things to watch in the Chicago Bears-Green Bay Packers game at Lambeau Field — plus our Week 14 predictions

The 2023 second-round pick from Michigan State had 55 catches for 857 yards last season to lead the Packers in both categories. Reed also caught six touchdown passes and rushed for a TD last season.

That followed a rookie year in which Reed caught 64 passes for 793 yards and eight touchdowns while rushing 11 times for 119 yards and two more scores.

Bohanna, 26, has played 34 games and made 13 starts during an NFL career that has included stints with the Dallas Cowboys (2021-22), Detroit Lions (2023), Tennessee Titans (2023) and Seahawks (2024-25). The Cowboys selected him out of Kentucky in the sixth round of the 2021 draft.

His addition helps shore up the Packers’ defensive line depth after Devonte Wyatt suffered a season-ending ankle injury in a 31-24 Thanksgiving Day victory over the Detroit Lions.

Heath, 25, had caught six passes for 86 yards this season. He had 31 receptions for 308 yards and three touchdowns in three seasons with the Packers.

Newsom Pleads With Dems To Be More “Culturally Normal”

Newsom Pleads With Dems To Be More “Culturally Normal”

Authored by Steve Watson via Modernity.news,

California Governor Gavin Newsom is dishing out advice to his fellow Democrats: pretend to be normal while he plots a White House run.

Newsom, who’s been eyeing a 2028 presidential bid after loser Kamala Harris’ electoral wipeout, took to the stage at The New York Times DealBook Summit in New York City, urging his party to ditch the judgmental elitism that’s alienated everyday Americans.

“I think there’s a broader narrative that [Democrats] ought to address, that is, we have to be more culturally normal,” Newsom said, adding “We have to be a little less judgmental.”

Gavin Newsom: Democrats need to be more “culturally normal.”

Maybe start by not sitting like that ever again. pic.twitter.com/sWVZtap94Q

— Western Lensman (@WesternLensman) December 4, 2025

The only time I’ve ever seen a man’s ankle bent that way is during a football game and they usually don’t show the replay in a gruesome situation like that.

— Scott Lame (@dimeday128) December 4, 2025

He went on to stress the need for Democrats to grasp “the importance and power of the border, substantively and politically,” acknowledging how open borders and lax enforcement have fueled voter backlash.

In the same breath, Newsom unleashed on Fox News, comparing it to Soviet-era propaganda, saying “You got Pravda, the primetime lineup at Fox, just going on and on [in defense of Trump].”

He then slammed Trump as a “man-child,” declaring that the the President “called someone the ‘R word’ or piggy, and somehow it’s just ‘Trump being Trump.’ Nothing normal about this… It’s unbecoming to the president of the United States.”

Newsom then explained his own Trump-mimicking social media account antics were “approved” by him to “wake everybody up” to the “normalization of deviancy.” He accused Fox of criticizing his posts but never uttering a “damn word” about Trump’s rants.

The comments come as Newsom warns that Trump is “trying to wreck this country,” a claim that rings hollow given California’s ongoing crises under his watch, from rampant homelessness and crime to devastating wildfires that have scorched communities like the Pacific Palisades.

A Berkeley poll earlier this year found 54% of registered voters believe Newsom prioritizes his presidential ambitions over fixing the state’s problems, with only 26% saying he’s focused on governance.

X users mocked Newsom’s call for Democrats to feign “normalcy,” highlighting the irony of a governor whose policies have driven businesses and residents out of California in droves.

He doesn’t really believe it. He just wants certain voters to believe it.

— Western Lensman (@WesternLensman) December 4, 2025

Newsom lectures on being “culturally normal” while his policies wreck California’s economy and border security. Trump’s America doesn’t need lectures, we deliver results and put citizens first.

— Dangerous Thoughts (@DangerousThinkg) December 4, 2025

“We have to be a little more culturally normal.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I have to throw open the California border and pump 8 year old boys full of estrogen.”

— Western Lensman (@WesternLensman) December 4, 2025

This isn’t the first time Newsom’s slimy posturing has drawn fire. Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna recently blasted the governor for his online antics during an appearance on the PBD Podcast.

Host Patrick Bet-David noted, “You’re either a great troll or you’re trying to be. Like Newsom is dying to be Trump, but he’s not. Newsom is trying to be Trump. Newsom’s not Trump, right? Nowhere near him. But everything he does, he’s trying to be — the Trump of the left.”

Luna recounted a joke she made on a Comedy Central show: “I was on a show recently. I think it was on Comedy Central, it was like an evening talk show. And they’re talking about the ‘No Kings’ protests and I made a joke and I was like, ‘Well if you’re talking about Gavin Newsom it would be the ‘No Queens’ protest.’”

When asked if it was homophobic, she replied, “No he [Newsom] just has feminine tendencies, and it’s totally true. I don’t know, like — he bitches on the internet all the time. It’s like what are you doing, Gavin? You know, you have fires in the Palisades — what’s going on?”

Bet-David agreed, calling Newsom’s vibe “metro.”

Adding fuel to the fire, actress Halle Berry stunned the DealBook crowd earlier that day by slamming Newsom for vetoing a menopause care bill twice, questioning his fitness for higher office.

“Back in my great state of California, my very own governor, Gavin Newsom, has vetoed our menopause bill, not one, but 2 years in a row! But that’s OK, because he’s not GOING to be governor forever!” Berry urged.

She continued, “With the way he’s overlooked women, half the population, by devaluing us in midlife, he probably should not be our next president either! Just saying!”

Berry rallied the audience, stressing “I need every woman in this country to fight with me. But the truth is, the fight isn’t just for us women. We need men too. We need all of the leaders, every single one of you in this room. This fight needs you.”

? HOLY CRAP! Actress Halle Berry went OFF on Gavin Newsom to the NYT crowd, the whole room was shocked

“With the way he’s overlooked women, half the population, by devaluing us in midlife, he probably should not be our next president either! Just saying!” ?

“My own Gov. Gavin… pic.twitter.com/SqJqDBjX8p

— Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) December 4, 2025

The Menopause Care Equity Act aimed to boost research and education on women’s health, but Newsom vetoed it citing potential cost hikes for working women. Berry’s raw callout drew gasps, underscoring how even Hollywood elites are turning on him amid whispers of his 2028 aspirations.

Newsom’s “normalcy” sermon exposes the Democrats’ desperation after years of pushing radical agendas on gender ideology, unchecked immigration, and climate hysteria that have alienated the heartland.

If this is their comeback strategy—masking extremism while California burns—good luck selling that to voters who’ve had enough of the chaos. Trump’s policies are winning because they’re grounded in reality, not performative tweaks.

No. 4 Texas Tech wins Big 12 title and likely earns first-round CFP bye with 34-7 win over No. 11 BYU

ARLINGTON, Texas — Cameron Dickey scored right after the first of linebacker Ben Roberts’ two interceptions in the second half as No. 4 Texas Tech won the Big 12 championship game — and almost certainly locked up a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff — with a 34-7 victory over No. 11 BYU on Saturday.

After investing millions of dollars in the transfer portal, the Red Raiders (12-1) have their first Big 12 title — they are one of only six schools that have been part of all 30 Big 12 seasons. They also are going to the CFP for the first time, though their win likely prevented the Big 12 from getting a second team in the playoff.

Behren Morton, who didn’t play in Tech’s only loss at Arizona State, threw two touchdowns to Cody Eakin and Stone Harrington kicked four field goals for the Red Raiders.

The only losses by BYU (11-2) are to the Red Raiders, including 29-7 in Lubbock four weeks ago before four turnovers in the second half this time. The Cougars will fall out of the top 12 instead of moving up when the new CFP rankings come out Sunday. They likely needed to be in the top 10 for a playoff spot.

Roberts, one of the holdovers on the Tech defense along with fellow linebacker Jacob Rodriguez (13 tackles), got his first interception with about 3½ minutes left in the third quarter when he reached up and deflected the pass by true freshman Bear Bachmeier. On the next play, Dickey took a direct snap and ran untouched 11 yards for a touchdown and 21-7 lead after making the two-point conversion.

Harrington, who kicked a school-record five field goals against BYU last month, missed a 49-yard attempt after Roberts jumped a route to make a one-handed interception in the fourth quarter.

But in between Roberts becoming the first player with multiple interceptions in one of the 24 Big 12 championship games, transfer Romello Height recovered when Bachmeier fumbled after being sacked. Harrington made a 44-yarder that time.

Robertson almost had his hands on another interception, but that deflection came on a fourth-down play that gave the ball back to the Red Raiders.

Tech went ahead to stay on Eakin’s incredible leaping 33-yard touchdown catch with 10:42 left in the second quarter that made it 10-7. He reached up with both hands to snag the ball, then got a foot down while twisting and lunging into the end zone.

Eakin had a TD catch in each of Tech’s first three games, but then had only one in the previous nine before the Big 12 title game.

The Cougars had avoided a slow start this time, going 90 yards in 14 plays on their opening drive for a 7-0 lead on LJ Martin’s 10-yard touchdown run. But they then had only 24 more yards before halftime. They had trailed 26-0 in Lubbock before scoring their only touchdown midway through the fourth quarter.

The takeaway

BYU: The Cougars finished with a season-low 200 total yards (63 rushing). Their previous low had been 255 total yards in the first loss to Tech. Martin, who entered as the Big 12 rushing leader at 102.4 yards per game, had 76 yards on 19 carries.

Texas Tech: Another spectacular performance by the Red Raiders defense that was the Big 12’s best this season, along with the league’s best offense.

Up next

BYU waits to see where it will go for its 19th bowl game in 21 seasons.

Texas Tech won’t have a playoff game at home if it has a first-round bye and plays in one of the four CFP quarterfinal games Dec. 31 or Jan. 1. One of those games is the Cotton Bowl on New Year’s Eve at AT&T Stadium.

No. 10 Iowa State takes down No. 1 Purdue 81-58, ending Boilermakers’ streak of nonconference home wins at 36

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Milan Momcilovic scored 20 points and No. 10 Iowa State sank 11 3-pointers in a dominant 81-58 win over No. 1 Purdue on Saturday.

Momcilovic, Killyan Toure and Joshua Jefferson all hit three 3-pointers. Toure scored 13, Blake Buchanan 12 and Jefferson 11 for the Cyclones (9-0). Iowa State shot 59% in the second half.

“We played our absolute best,” Cyclones coach T.J. Otzelberger said. “When you play an elite competitor and tremendous program and have the respect we have for the program, you know it’s going to take your best, and we were fortunate enough to do that. We made enough shots and made enough plays.”

Leading 35-31 at halftime, the Cyclones used an 11-0 run to take a 48-33 lead with 17:17 left. Tamin Lipsey, Momcilovic and Toure sank three consecutive 3-pointers to finish the spurt.

Iowa State kept building on its lead from there, pulling ahead by as many as 27 points. The Cyclones shot 54% while the Boilermakers (8-1) hit 41%. Purdue had 15 turnovers, three more than the Cyclones.

“It was an avalanche,” Purdue coach Matt Painter said. “We had way too many turnovers in the second half and more than anything I feel they just stole our spirit. You have to give Iowa State credit — they were the reason for our frustration level. They took us to the woodshed.”

Purdue was 4 of 18 on 3-pointers. The Boilermakers didn’t help themselves at the free-throw line either, hitting just 6 of 14.

Braden Smith led Purdue with 11 points and Oscar Cluff and Daniel Jacobsen each scored 10.

The Cyclones shot 48% while holding the Boilermakers to 37% in the opening half. Purdue’s top two scorers both struggled in the first half as Fletcher Loyer made 1 of 5 and Trey Kaufman-Renn 1 of 8. Kaufman-Renn missed his first six shots, finally scoring with 1:21 left in the half.

“They executed better than us,” Kaufman-Renn said. “They hit some shots.”

Jacobsen was 4 of 6 from the field but went to the bench with two fouls with 4:22 remaining before halftime.

The loss snapped a string of 36 consecutive nonconference home victories for Purdue.

“Obviously this sucks right now, but it will probably be a good thing showing us how much better we have to get,” Smith said.

A UN team in Lebanon examines options for border area with Israel after peacekeepers leave

BEIRUT — A United Nations delegation visting Lebanon said Saturday they came to Beirut to explore options for territory along the border with Israel after a U.N. peacekeeping force’s term ends at the end of next year.

The comments by the team representing the 15 members of the U.N. Security Council came a day after Lebanon’s Prime Minister Nawaf Salam told them that his country will need a follow-up force in southern Lebanon to fill the vacuum once the U.N. peacekeepers’ term expires.

The U.N. Security Council voted unanimously in August to terminate the U.N. peacekeeping force in southern Lebanon, known as UNIFIL, at the end of 2026 — nearly five decades after the force was deployed. The multinational force has played a significant role in monitoring the security situation in the region, including during the Israel-Hezbollah war last year.

One of UNIFIL’s main missions has been the implementation of U.N. Security Council resolution 1701 that ended the 34-day Israel-Hezbollah war in 2006. The same resolution was used again to end the latest 14-month Israel-Hezbollah war that ended with a U.S.-brokered ceasefire in November last year.

“We wanted to use (the) opportunity of this visit to also examine options for implementation of resolution 1701 following UNIFIL’s departure from Lebanon,” said Samuel Žbogar, permanent representative of Slovenia to the U.N. and president of the Security Council.

“We are looking forward to the secretary general recommendations on this one as well,” Žbogar said in a brief statement. “As you can imagine, this is a topic that will deserve a thorough conversation during 2026.”

The delegation met during its visit to Lebanon with top officials in the country as well as the army commander. On Saturday, the team went to south Lebanon where they visited the border area with Israel.

The latest Israel-Hezbollah war began a day after Hamas attacked southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, with Hezbollah firing rockets into Israel in solidarity with the Palestinian Hamas fighters. Israel’s response, which included bombardment and a ground operation, last year severely weakened Hezbollah.

Ken Griffin Dumps Last Penthouse In Crime-Ridden Chicago

Ken Griffin Dumps Last Penthouse In Crime-Ridden Chicago

Hedge fund manager Ken Griffin is on the verge of dumping his final piece of real estate in crime-ridden, far-left–controlled Chicago, and he hasn’t looked back since moving Citadel’s global headquarters to Miami.

Bloomberg reports that Griffin’s penthouse at 800 N. Michigan Avenue, located in Park Tower, one of the premier luxury residential buildings along Chicago’s Magnificent Mile, is under contract for $12.5 million. The price reflects a $3.25 million cut from July, yet remains well above the $6.9 million he paid during the Dot-Com bubble.

The sale of the penthouse marks the end of Griffin’s holdings in a city plagued by crime, failed progressive policies, high taxes, and a political environment unfriendly to thriving businesses.

BBG added more color:

At another building, Griffin sold two condos to his longtime political rival, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, who bought them for a combined $19 million in late 2024. Griffin has a net worth of more than $48 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Citadel maintains a downsized office in Chicago after moving from its namesake tower at 131 S. Dearborn that once served as the firm’s headquarters.

We’ve gone from probably 1,300 people in Chicago to a few hundred. From being the primary tenant of one of the largest skyscrapers to I think we’ll be down to 2 floors in a year,” Griffin recently said.

WOW: Citadel CEO Ken Griffin reveals one of America’s largest hedge funds has fled Chicago over crime, even though Democratic leaders claim everything is under control.

In 2021, Griffin compared Chicago to Afghanistan “on a good day.”

Meanwhile, Citadel is thriving in South Florida and is set to build a $2.5 billion tower for its Miami headquarters.
