FAFO: Pentagon Probes Unhinged Democratic Senator After Video Urging Troops To “Refuse Illegal Orders”

FAFO: Pentagon Probes Unhinged Democratic Senator After Video Urging Troops To “Refuse Illegal Orders”

The Pentagon has opened a misconduct investigation into Sen. Mark Kelly following his participation in a video, alongside several other crazed Democratic lawmakers, urging military and intelligence personnel to “refuse illegal orders.”

The video message, delivered as “You must refuse illegal orders,” has been assessed as a direct challenge to lawful command authority and has been described as “sedition at the highest level” by President Trump

On Monday, the Department of War wrote in an X post that an investigation has been launched into the Arizona lawmaker and former US Navy officer, Mark Kelly, over “serious allegations of misconduct.”

DoW emphasized that military retirees remain subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice and to federal laws that bar efforts to undermine military loyalty or discipline.

.@PressSec: “You can’t have a functioning military if there is disorder and chaos within the ranks, and that’s what these Democrat members were encouraging. It’s very clear.” pic.twitter.com/2HH2SZ2UQG

— Trump War Room (@TrumpWarRoom) November 24, 2025

The department also reiterated that servicemembers must obey lawful orders, which are presumed lawful, and that personal views do not justify disobedience.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT:

The Department of War has received serious allegations of misconduct against Captain Mark Kelly, USN (Ret.). In accordance with the Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. § 688, and other applicable regulations, a thorough review of these allegations…

Here’s the video:

We want to speak directly to members of the Military and the Intelligence Community.

The American people need you to stand up for our laws and our Constitution.

Don’t give up the ship. pic.twitter.com/N8lW0EpQ7r

— Sen. Elissa Slotkin (@SenatorSlotkin) November 18, 2025

Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich, also featured in the video, was forced to acknowledge after pressuring military and intelligence personnel to “refuse illegal orders” to admit on Monday to ABC’s Martha Raddatz that “To my knowledge, I am not aware of things that are illegal—but certainly there are some legal gymnastics that are going on with these Caribbean strikes and everything related to Venezuela.”

‘NOT AWARE’: SLOTKIN PRESSED OVER URGING MILITARY TO DEFY ‘ILLEGAL’ TRUMP ORDERS

After urging members of the military to refuse “illegal orders” from the Trump administration, Sen. Elissa Slotkin, D-Mich., admitted she is not aware of any such orders.

“Do you believe President… pic.twitter.com/XTqE84c9tq

— Rob Bluey (@RobertBluey) November 24, 2025

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth called left-wing lawmakers, including Reps. Jason Crow (D-Colo.), Chris DeLuzio (D-Pa.), Maggie Goodlander (D-N.H.), and Chrissy Houlahan (D-Pa.), as well as Sens. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) and Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.), all featured in the video, the “Seditious Six.” He described their actions as “despicable, reckless, and false” in the propaganda video to encourage “our warriors to ignore the orders of their Commanders.”

The video made by the “Seditious Six” was despicable, reckless, and false. Encouraging our warriors to ignore the orders of their Commanders undermines every aspect of “good order and discipline.” Their foolish screed sows doubt and confusion — which only puts our warriors in… https://t.co/UvLXChZnmF

— Pete Hegseth (@PeteHegseth) November 24, 2025

What’s troubling is that the real aim of the video appears to be delegitimization, paralysis, or even an attempt to undermine the Trump administration. It mirrors the broader color-revolution playbook that Democratic operatives and their billionaire-funded dark-money NGO networks have been deploying for years in regime-change style operations against Trump.

Calling on the military to “disobey unlawful orders” without identifying a single unlawful order, combined with judicial lawfare, deploying the protest-industrial complex, and a long list of coordinated pressure attacks, makes it increasingly clear that the billionaire power brokers behind the Democrats are manufacturing chaos, and some of these sinister NGOs coordinating chaos are from other countries.

Sigh.

Waste Of The Day: California’s Clean Energy Investment Doesn’t Pay

Waste Of The Day: California’s Clean Energy Investment Doesn’t Pay

Authored by Jeremy Portnoy via RealClearInvestigations,

Topline: In 2007, California invested $468.4 million of its pension funds into private companies through its Clean Energy and Technology Fund. Today, the money is worth just $138 million, and the state won’t explain why its investment performed so poorly. Several open records requests filed by The Center Square were denied by the California Public Employees Retirement System, citing legal exemptions.

Key facts: CalPERS’ clean energy investments declined by 71% and lost the state $330.4 million. It’s unclear where the money was spent, except that it was invested “across the spectrum of the global clean energy and technology value chain.” The state’s website lists two equity firms that received nearly $48 million in investments and lost almost $32 million of it.

The Center Square estimated that if California had invested its $468.4 million in an S&P 500 index fund in 2007 instead of the Clean Energy Fund, the money would now be worth $3 billion.

Private equity firms were paid at least $22 million to manage California’s clean energy investments, according to The Center Square.

CalPERS has been increasing its investments in private companies for years, as opposed to public equity investments in publicly-traded stocks and bonds. The state now plans to invest 17% of its pension fund in private equity, up from 7% in 2021, according to The Center Square.

Critical quote: State Assemblyman Carl DeMaio was among those to respond to the report. He wrote a letter to the U.S. Department of Justice asking for an investigation into how California’s pension savings were spent, and claimed that “If CalPERS were a private entity, people would be going to jail over this outrageous violation of fiduciary responsibility — but California politicians have passed laws allowing CalPERS leadership to get a pass.”

“CalPERS’ job is to safeguard retirement funds, not gamble them away to score political points,” DeMaio said. “This is financial malpractice and a betrayal of public trust, and the public deserves to know exactly who made these reckless decisions.”

Background: CalPERS only has 79% of the money it needs to pay pensions it has already promised to retirees. If the money does not materialize before the pensions are due, taxpayers will likely be responsible for the remaining 21%.

In dollar terms, CalPERS is underfunded by $174.6 billion, according to Equable. No other retirement system in the country has more than $85 billion worth of debt. Executive Officer Marcie Frost earned a $530,000 salary last year.

California also manages a separate pension fund for teachers, which is underfunded by $69 billion. Its Chief Investment Officer Christopher Ailman made $561,000 last year, the highest salary on the state payroll.

Search all federal, state and local salaries and vendor spending with the world’s largest government spending database at OpenTheBooks.com

Summary: Taxpayers deserve full transparency into even small amounts of government spending, but oversight of one of the largest pools of state funding in the U.S. is especially important.

Vietnam-era veterans honored at rescheduled event: ‘Nice to welcome them home’

Three U.S. Armed Forces veterans who served during the Vietnam era between 1955 and 1975 received pins from U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider, D-Highland Park, during a delayed Veterans Day event honoring their service.

Like many who fought in Vietnam, Ross Franke of Tower Lake did not receive a warm welcome when he came home. It took several years before the now-retired CTA motorman was no longer ridiculed by the people he encountered.

“It was not very welcoming when I got home,” he said. “They called us ‘baby killers.’ Finally, there was a parade for us in downtown Chicago. I marched it in and (finally) felt welcomed.”

John Gerend of Lake Villa went to college in the early 1970s, graduated, was drafted into the U.S. Army and decided to go to officer candidate school. Commissioned as a second lieutenant in 1971, he led a signal corps unit near Chu Lai, Vietnam. The war was all around him.

“I went to work for Corning Glass,” Gerend said. “They hired me because of my (military) leadership. I had a lot of support and didn’t experience what a lot of the others did.”

Veteran Genevieve Petruzelli of Gurnee served in the U.S. Air Force from 1973 to 1977, specializing in cyber security. She said the military was in her blood, from a great-grandfather who fought in the Spanish-American War to a father and uncles who served in World War II.

Vietnam veteran Ross Franke, center, of Tower Lake, receives a Vietnam era service pin from U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider, D-Highland Park, right, and Andrew Tangen at Schneider’s rescheduled Veterans Day celebration Monday in Grayslake. (Steve Sadin/For the Lake County News-Sun).

“For me, it was easy,” Petruzelli said, referring to how she was treated when she left the service as a Vietnam-era veteran. “As a woman, I blended right into society, so it was an easy transition.”

Petruzelli, Gerend and Franke were among 28 veterans to receive Vietnam Era pins at Schneider’s eighth annual Veterans Day breakfast rescheduled for Monday at the College of Lake County in Grayslake because he had to return to Washington on Nov. 11 to help reopen the government.

Since the U.S. Congress established the Vietnam pin program in 2012 with a sunset date of Nov. 11, 2025, Schneider said rescheduling the Veterans Day breakfast was a necessity. He wanted all Vietnam-era vets who wanted a pin to receive one.

“From the time I presented the first Vietnam pins in 2013, this is the most important act I have done,” Schneider said after the event. “There was no question about rescheduling the event. The way these men and women were treated was a disgrace.”

U.S. Air Force veteran Genevieve Petruzelli of Gurnee, second from right, was one of 28 people to receive a Vietnam veterans pin at U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider’s rescheduled Veterans Day celebration Monday in Grayslake. (Steve Sadin/For the Lake County News-Sun).

Of the approximately 500 Vietnam pins Schneider has presented since 2013, he said everyone has their unique story, but the “common thread” is their “answering the call to service.”

“They all have an important story, and they’re interconnected,” Schneider said, referring to Petruzelli, Gerend and Franke. “Some people were able to brush it aside, and others had a heavy impact. It’s important to recognize them all and welcome them home.”

Many of the more than 125 people at the event were veterans who served after the Vietnam era. For example, Sara Davis of Lake in the Hills, who served in the U.S. Navy from 1993 to 1997, went to get to know other veterans and enjoy their company.

“I got to know some great people,” Davis said of her time in the military. “There is no other kind of camaraderie like that.”

Lalena Zoe Magnetta, a Grayslake village trustee, served in the Navy from 2002 to 2012. She said she came because it was an opportunity “to talk to my brothers and sisters.” She welcomed the chance to see the Vietnam-era veterans honored.

“I’ve heard stories about how people were not very nice to them,” Magnetta said. “Many of them were the people next door. It is nice to welcome them home.”

Andrew Tangen, the executive director of the Veterans Assistance Commission of Lake County, is a Navy veteran who devotes himself now to making sure all veterans receive the services they earned and deserve.

Tangen said at the breakfast that the Army, Navy and U.S. Marine Corps all celebrated their 250th birthdays this year, but the state of Illinois did not establish veterans’ assistance until 1874. Their mission is an important one.

“These benefits are free of charge to veterans,” he said. “Many of the veterans need them.”

Navy Capt. Steve Yargosz, the commanding officer of Naval Station Great Lakes, said at the breakfast that every Navy recruit does basic training at Great Lakes, where they learn the values of honor, courage and commitment. Those attributes do not go away when they leave the service.

“Veterans carry them into every corner of our nation, into our schools, our businesses, our hospitals and our neighborhoods,” Yargosz said. They remind us, through quiet strength and daily example, what it means to serve something greater than ourselves.”

Venezuela Says Trump Has Designated ‘Non-Existent’ Drug Cartel As Terrorist Org; US Covert Ops Believed ‘Imminent’

Venezuela Says Trump Has Designated ‘Non-Existent’ Drug Cartel As Terrorist Org; US Covert Ops Believed ‘Imminent’

With talk of anti-Caracas US covert operations set to begin imminently, President Trump’s labelling of the so-called “Cartel de los Soles” as a foreign terrorist organization has become official, and taken effect Monday.

However, Venezuela has hit back, rejecting the label and going so far as to call the group, which translates to “Cartel of the Suns, as “non-existent”.

“Venezuela categorically, firmly, and absolutely rejects the new and ridiculous fabrication by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of State, Marco Rubio, which designates the non-existent Cartel de los Soles as a terrorist organization,” said Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil on his Telegram account. Caracas is dismissing it as an ‘absurd’ lie.

via AP

Gil claimed that this revives “an infamous and vile lie to justify an illegitimate and illegal intervention against Venezuela, under the classic U.S. regime-change format. This new maneuver will meet the same fate as previous and recurring aggressions against our country: failure.”

Indeed the Trump administration has admitted that regime change targeting President Maduro is an option which is on the table, amid the unprecedented military build-up in the Caribbean.

Reuters has said that Trump held several meetings with senior advisers last week to explore options for a possible military strike on Venezuela.

But then later the commander-in-chief said, “I can’t tell you what it would be, but I’ve kind of made up my mind” while aboard Air Force One.

President Maduro has lately compared the situation to the US invasion of Iraq, well-known to have been launched on false claims about weapons of mass destruction. He accused Washington crafting “a bizarre narrative” since it cannot accuse Venezuela of hiding chemical or biological weapons.

The US has lately linked Fentanyl trafficking with “chemical weapons” – given the substance is technically classified as dangerous chemical substance.

Meanwhile, on Monday Fox News has issued the following headlineVenezuela ‘covert actions’ could begin soon, reports say.

U.S. MILITARY SURGE TO PUSH RUSSIA, CHINA AND IRAN OUT OF THE AMERICAS

Fox News is reporting that the sweeping U.S. buildup in our own hemisphere shows this is about far more than Maduro.

“It’s about getting Russia, China and Iran OUT of the western hemisphere.”

But at this point, nothing about any of this seems so “covert” after all. There’s a possibility that power grid disruptions could ensue, or also missile or drone strikes could begin targeting cartel locations by land.

Justice Department renews bid to unseal Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell grand jury materials

NEW YORK — The Justice Department on Monday renewed its request to unseal grand jury transcripts from Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s sex trafficking cases, arguing they should be made public under a new law requiring the government to open its files on the late financier and his longtime confidante.

U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton cited the Epstein Files Transparency Act — passed by Congress last week and signed into law by President Donald Trump — in court filings asking Manhattan federal Judges Richard Berman and Paul A. Engelmayer to reconsider their prior decisions to keep the material sealed.

The Justice Department interprets the transparency act “as requiring it to publish the grand jury and discovery materials in this case,” said the eight-page filings, which also bear the names of Attorney General Pam Bondi and her second-in-command, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche.

The filings are among the first public indications that the Justice Department is working to comply with the transparency act, which requires that it make Epstein-related files public in a searchable and downloadable format within 30 days of Trump signing it into law. That means no later than Dec. 19.

The Justice Department asked Berman and Engelmayer for expedited rulings allowing the release of the grand jury materials, which contains testimony from law enforcement witnesses but no victims, arguing that the new law supersedes existing court orders and judicial policies that “would otherwise prevent public disclosure.”

In its filing Monday, the Justice Department said any materials made public could be partially redacted to prevent the disclosure of things like victims’ personal identifying information.

The transparency act compels the Justice Department, the FBI and federal prosecutors to release the vast troves of material they’ve amassed during investigations into Epstein’s decades-long sexual abuse of young women and girls. The law mandates the release of all unclassified documents and investigative materials, including files relating to immunity deals and internal Justice Department communications about whom to charge or investigate.

Berman has previously said that the grand jury transcripts in Epstein’s case amount to about 70 pages, along with a PowerPoint slideshow and call log. The only witness to testify was an FBI agent who “had no direct knowledge of the facts of the case,” Berman noted in his prior ruling.

The FBI agent testified on June 18, 2019, and July 2, 2019. The July 2 session ended with grand jurors voting to indict Epstein. He was arrested on July 6, 2019 and found dead in his jail cell on Aug. 10, 2019.

The same FBI agent testified before the Maxwell grand jury, which met in June and July 2020 and March 2021, the Justice Department has said. The only other witness was a New York City police detective.

The Justice Department first asked Berman to unseal the grand jury material in July, doing so at Trump’s direction as the president sought to quell a firestorm after he reneged on a campaign promise to open up the government’s so-called Epstein files.

Engelmayer, who presided over Maxwell’s 2021 sex trafficking trial, ruled first.

In an Aug. 11 decision, he wrote that federal law almost never allows for the release of grand jury materials and that casually making the documents public was a bad idea. And he suggested that the Trump administration’s real motive for wanting the records unsealed was to fool the public with an “illusion” of transparency.

Engelmayer wrote that after privately reviewing the grand jury transcripts that anyone familiar with the evidence would “learn next to nothing new” and “would come away feeling disappointed and misled.”

“The materials do not identify any person other than Epstein and Maxwell as having had sexual contact with a minor. They do not discuss or identify any client of Epstein’s or Maxwell’s. They do not reveal any heretofore unknown means or methods of Epstein’s or Maxwell’s crimes,” the judge said.

Berman, who presided over Epstein’s 2019 case, ruled about a week later. He concluded that a “significant and compelling reason” to deny the Justice Department’s request to unseal the Epstein grand jury transcripts was that information contained in them “pales in comparison” to investigative information and materials already in the Justice Department’s possession.

Berman wrote in his Aug. 20 ruling that the government’s 100,000 pages of Epstein-related files “dwarf” the grand jury transcripts, which he said were “merely a hearsay snippet of Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged conduct.”
