Man reports being stabbed during attempt robbery on CTA train

A 37-year-old man was stabbed overnight during an attempt robbery on a CTA train in the Austin neighborhood, Chicago police said.

Officers responded to a call about 2:30 a.m. in the 300 block of North Central Avenue where a man told them he was on a CTA train when he was approached by someone with a sharp object who demanded his property, police said. The CTA Green Line is located in the 300 block of North Central.

A fight ensued and the victim suffered a laceration to his forearm and was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park where he was listed in good condition, police said.

No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
