A 23-year-old woman was left critically injured after a drive-by shooting Monday morning in the Illinois Medical District, Chicago police said.

The woman was parked on the 600 block of South Paulina Street at 5:24 a.m. when a dark colored sedan approached, and the occupants opened fire. The woman was shot multiple times and taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, according to police.

The offenders fled the scene, and no one is in custody. Area 3 detectives are investigating, police said.
