An Aurora home was left uninhabitable after a fire Saturday, according to the Aurora Fire Department.
At around 4:54 p.m. on Saturday, the fire department responded to a reported structure fire in the 2400 block of Crescent Lane on Aurora’s far East Side, according to a news release from the department.
Upon arrival, units reported smoke showing from the rear of a single-family home, the release said. The homeowner confirmed that all occupants of the home had evacuated safely.
Firefighters made entry and found a fully involved fire in a workshop area in the rear of the home, the release said, and a hose line was deployed to contain and extinguish the fire, while crews did primary searches and ventilated the home.
There was moderate smoke throughout the home, but there was no observed fire extension beyond the room the fire originated in, officials said.
No injuries were reported, per the department, but the home was declared uninhabitable due to smoke damage. Victim Services responded to assist the displaced residents, the release noted.
Four engine companies, two truck companies, three medic units and two chief officers, for a total of 26 personnel, responded to the fire, per the release.
Fire investigators from the Aurora Fire Department also responded to the scene, the release said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
