Introducing the 2025 Beacon-News/Courier-News Boys Soccer All-Area Team

Pair of players who led Streamwood to Class 2A third-place finish highlight first and second teams.

First Team

Mason Aguirre, West Aurora, senior, forward: Scored 13 goals and added an assist for sectional qualifier. All-conference and all-sectional.

Hugo Arista, Dundee-Crown, senior, midfielder: Emerged with 28 goals and three assists for sectional qualifier. All-conference and all-sectional.

Heitor Bannwart, Harvest-Christian, senior, forward: Scored 32 goals and added 17 assists for sectional finalist. All-sectional.

Ashton Goetell, St. Charles North, senior, defender: Disruptive stopper scored two goals and led a back line that totaled five shutouts for sectional finalist. All-state. All-conference.

Caleb Kelly, Geneva, senior, forward: Scored 23 goals and added seven assists. All-state. All-conference.

Dustin King, Oswego, junior, defender: Two-way standout produced 14 goals and 11 assists. Also powered back line that recorded 11 shutouts. All-conference and all-sectional.

Oliver Kosciolek, Bartlett, senior, forward: Finished with 23 goals and seven assists for sectional qualifier. All-state. Named conference MVP.

Matthew Lipp, South Elgin, midfielder, junior: Scored 17 goals with a team-high 13 assists for team that reached supersectional. All-state. All-conference.

Vakaris Majus, Oswego East, senior, midfielder: Scored nine goals and posted a program-record with 18 assists. Also named all-conference and all-sectional.

Colten Pariso, St. Charles East, junior, defender: Athletic stopper contributed an assist and powered back line that recorded nine shutouts. Named team MVP. All-conference and all-sectional.

Christopher Tapia, Marmion, senior, goalkeeper: East Aurora transfer tallied 11 shutouts and 1.22 goals-against average in 1,725 minutes for sectional qualifier. All-conference and all-sectional.

Second Team

Ethan Arbetman, Metea Valley, senior, forward: Tallied six goals and two assists. All-conference and all-sectional.

Nate Barsch, Batavia, senior, defender: Scored two goals and added two assists as defensive leader. All-conference and all-sectional.

Andy Benitez, Streamwood, senior, forward: Came through with team-best eight goals and six assists as Sabres finished third in Class 2A. All-conference and all-sectional.

Chris Cardenas, Streamwood, junior, defender: Had a spectacular playoff run, powering Sabres to third place in Class 2A. Added an assist for back line that posted six shutouts.

Manuel Hernandez, Dundee-Crown, senior, goalkeeper: Recorded 10 shutouts and registered  0.95 goals-against average for sectional qualifier. All-state. All-conference.

Sebastian Kopanicak, Bartlett, senior, forward: Scored 18 goals and contributed nine assists for sectional qualifier. All-conference and all-sectional.

Alan Munoz, South Elgin, junior, forward: Scored program-record 22 goals and added six assists for team that reached supersectional. All-conference and all-sectional.

Ben Murphy, Geneva, senior, midfielder: Tallied 14 goals and added five assists. All-conference and all-sectional.

Jordan Peinada, Marmion, senior, forward: Produced 22 goals and eight assists for sectional qualifier. Al-conference and all-sectional.

Sawyer Smith, Hinckley-Big Rock, senior, forward: Converted defender erupted for 38 goals and seven assists. All-conference and all-sectional.

Matthew VanDeman, Aurora Central Catholic, senior, forward: Scored 21 goals and added eight assists. Finished with 80 goals in four-year career. All-conference and all-sectional.
