Estados Unidos levanta sanciones

ICE Announces Arrest Of 400 Illegal Immigrants In Minnesota
ICE Announces Arrest Of 400 Illegal Immigrants In Minnesota
Authored by Naveen Athrappully via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours),
More than 400 illegal immigrants have been arrested in Minnesota by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as part of Operation Metro Surge, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said in a statement on Dec. 12.
Operation Metro Surge targets the “worst of the worst” illegal immigrants who had flocked to Minnesota, assuming the state’s “sanctuary” politicians would protect them, DHS said.
Sanctuary jurisdictions are places in the country where local or state officials refuse to enforce federal immigration laws or cooperate with federal immigration authorities. Minnesota is one of such states, according to an Aug. 5 statement from the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Among the arrested were a Burmese national convicted of third-degree criminal sexual conduct using force or coercion, a Somali convicted of robbery, a Laotian convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a child under 13, and an Ecuadorian national who was previously arrested for assaulting a police officer, DHS said.
DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin accused Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who have been vocal against ICE operations, of “fail[ing] to protect the people of Minnesota.”
“They let these monsters and child predators roam free,” McLaughlin said. “Thanks to our brave law enforcement, Minnesota is safer with these thugs off their streets.”
The Epoch Times reached out to Walz and Frey for comments and did not receive a response by publication time.
The arrests come as immigration enforcement officers continue to face a surge in attacks nationwide.
On Dec. 12, DHS said an ICE officer was attacked by a criminal illegal immigrant in Tullos, Louisiana, who “savagely bit the officer’s hand while resisting arrest.”
The bite broke through the skin and drew blood, the agency said, while calling on politicians in sanctuary jurisdictions and media to stop calling for resistance against ICE enforcement.
“DHS law enforcement is facing a 1,150 percent increase in assaults against them and an 8,000 percent increase in death threats. This is the reality of what our ICE officers are facing every day as they go to work to simply do their job and enforce the law,” McLaughlin said.
“Many of these assaults, including biting and vehicle rammings, are happening as a direct result of sanctuary politicians encouraging illegal aliens to evade arrest.”
There has been pushback from officials in Minneapolis and Minnesota over the federal government’s enforcement operations.
In Minneapolis, the City Council unanimously approved a stronger version of its “sanctuary city” ordinance on Dec. 11 amid the federal government’s illegal immigration crackdown.
Updates to the “separation ordinance,” which bans local police from assisting federal immigration-enforcement efforts and has been in effect for 22 years, were passed by the council, 13-0. There are no Republicans on the council.
During the meeting, Councilmember Jason Chavez, whose parents came from Mexico, said, “Our undocumented immigrants as a whole are being arrested, detained, deported, and not being able to come home.”
Chavez vowed to “continue to resist this Trump administration.”
Meanwhile, Minnesota Gov. Walz wrote a letter to DHS Secretary Kristi Noem on Dec. 11, saying he has serious concerns about ICE operations allegedly resulting in “multiple arrests of United States citizens” in Minneapolis.
“The forcefulness, lack of communication, and unlawful practices displayed by your agents will not be tolerated in Minnesota,” he wrote.
DHS criticized the letter in a Dec. 12 X post, highlighting that there is a “growing and disturbing trend” of agitators and rioters obstructing law enforcement during the arrest of illegal immigrants.
The department highlighted the surge in attacks against officers and warned that obstructing law enforcement is not a protest but a crime.
“Secretary Noem has been clear: if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” DHS said.
“Instead of trying to spread misinformation, @GovTimWalz should focus on protecting American lives and thanking the brave men and women of DHS law enforcement who are risking their lives to make communities in his state safer.”

DJ Moore comes alive for Chicago Bears with 2 TDs — including 1 on an ‘unbelievable’ Caleb Williams throw
Cole Kmet should have been the first read on the play, but he was knocked down by a defensive end before could leak out into open space. Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams faked a handoff and rolled out to his right. Seeing Kmet go down, Williams turned his eyes upfield.
Kmet, still getting up off the frozen ground, watched Williams launch a ball toward the back of the end zone, where several Cleveland Browns defenders appeared to be in position to make an interception.
“Isn’t that like an ill-advised throw?” Kmet later said.
Not for Williams.
Week 15 photos: Chicago Bears 31, Cleveland Browns 3
Somehow the ball made its way past the outstretched arms of two defenders and landed in the hands of Bears wide receiver DJ Moore. The touchdown, Moore’s second of the game, extended a two-possession lead to three and pretty much ended any hope of a Cleveland comeback — if any such hope ever existed.
The Bears cruised to a 31-3 win over the Browns on Sunday at Soldier Field. Williams threw for 242 yards and two touchdowns, both to Moore. Running back D’Andre Swift scored twice and piled up 98 rushing yards.
The third-quarter touchdown to Moore was a jaw-dropping moment.
“He’s been pinpoint with his accuracy on those things,” Moore said of the throw. “So it was just, I’ve got to come down with it.”
Did Williams think that throw would qualify as ill-advised?
“No, I can make every throw,” he said.
The confidence is supreme for Williams, who has thrown for 3,150 yards and 21 touchdowns this season with six interceptions. Per NFL Next Gen Stats, the second touchdown to Moore had just a 16.1% chance of completion.
“That was unbelievable,” Kmet said. “It just shows off why he was the No. 1 overall pick. Just a special play that I don’t know how many guys in the league can make that throw.”
The Bears improved to 10-4 on the season, their first 10-win season since 2018. Coach Ben Johnson began the week by stating the Bears “desperately” needed this win. The standings suggest it will take at least 11 wins to make the playoffs in the NFC, and the lowly Browns were the last losing team remaining on the schedule.
With three games remaining, nothing is guaranteed for the Bears. But they couldn’t afford to lose this game.
The Browns (3-11) are one of the worst teams in the NFL and looked like it. Rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders threw three interceptions, and the Bears offense turned all three takeaways into points.

“When you get interceptions or you get the turnovers, the fumbles, whatever the case may be, you want to go down and score,” Williams said. “It creates a sense of momentum for us and it gets everybody in it, gets everybody going.”
The Bears punted on their first possession, but after that the offense had no trouble getting going.
Swift scored on a 6-yard run and Williams connected with Moore for a 3-yard score to put the Bears ahead 14-0 in the first quarter. During a season in which the Bears frequently have had to eke out wins in the final minutes, this was a much-needed change of pace.
Browns star pass rusher Myles Garrett recorded 1½ sacks, pulling him within one from tying the single-season record, but it wasn’t enough to alter the outcome. His presence felt like more of a footnote than anything.
The Bears played without wide receiver Rome Odunze, who aggravated his foot injury during pregame warmups. They were down to four available receivers before Luther Burden III exited midway through the game with an ankle injury, leaving them with only three receivers down the stretch. Burden led the team with six catches for 84 yards.
Despite those injuries, the offense didn’t blink.
“I just know that at any point I could be anywhere and I know the playbook like the back of my hand,” Moore said.

Moore’s big game — he finished with four catches for 69 yards and the two touchdowns — came a week after he totaled one catch for minus-4 yards in a loss to the Green Bay Packers. That was the worst game of Moore’s career in terms of receiving yards, and it was the third time this season he caught one or zero passes in a game.
Before this season, that hadn’t happened since he played for the Carolina Panthers. Johnson knew he needed his highest-paid wide receiver to step up, and he did.
“He’s been playing this way every week,” Johnson said. “It’s just we haven’t been able to get the ball in his hands. We were able to target him a few more times, and he came through with some big plays for us.
“Sometimes these things come in bunches. You kind of have a dry spell, and then all of a sudden he could come on hot here over the next three games and just really take off.”
Although Moore has had some quiet spells this season, the Bears will need him down the stretch, even when Odunze returns. Their final three games come against teams in the playoff hunt, starting with the Packers on Saturday night at Soldier Field. Then they finish with a trip to San Francisco and a home matchup with the Detroit Lions.
The Bears exerted their will on the Browns. It might not be so easy down the stretch, but the Bears did what they needed to do to get to 10 wins.
“Can’t get to 11 without getting to 10,” tight end Colston Loveland said.

Chicago Bears defense: 3 INTs and 5 sacks ‘carried the day’ in a 31-3 demolition of the Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jerry Jeudy jumped up to cradle what looked like a surefire touchdown reception.
But in a flash, Chicago Bears Jaylon Johnson, his back turned to the ball, somehow emerged with it for a no-look interception.
“Houdini” is usually a label assigned to Bears quarterback Caleb Williams, but Johnson’s sneaky theft momentarily fooled even his own teammates.
“I didn’t even know where the ball was at,” linebacker D’Marco Jackson said. “I was getting ready to go in on special teams. So I looked back and I’m like, ‘He caught it?’”
If you can figure out how Johnson did it, tell him. Even he wasn’t quite sure.
“It’s really just playing the ball through his eyes and not really panicking at all, just understanding where the ball was going to come and then it happened to fall right into my hands,” he said.
Week 15 photos: Chicago Bears 31, Cleveland Browns 3
But he couldn’t say whether the ball bounced off Jeudy or he ripped it away, it was all so fluid.
“All those details happened a little quick,” Johnson said. “I mean, I was in position, seeing the ball, played through his eyes, and then the ball was in my hands.”
The Bears defense didn’t have to dig into a bag of tricks — they just dominated the Browns in a 31-3 romp Sunday at Soldier Field.
• Three interceptions, all in the second half, which the offense converted into two touchdowns and a field goal.
• Five sacks, including a career-high two by defensive end Austin Booker, for the most by the Bears since Week 5 in 2023.
• Just 192 yards of total offense allowed.
• One first down (1 for 6 on third down) and 57 yards of total offense allowed in the first half.
Chicago Bears linebacker D’Marco Jackson makes an interception against the Cleveland Browns in the third quarter Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, at Soldier Field. (Brian Cassella/Chicago Tribune)
“I can’t say enough good things here about our defense,” Bears coach Ben Johnson said. “I thought this was really an outstanding performance. I know we gave up a couple explosives that we’d like to have back, but outside of one or two plays, they really did a phenomenal job shutting down the run game, making it second-and-long, third-and-long, and getting off the field.
“When you combine that with the takeaways, once again, three takeaways there in the second half which were enormous for us, it really, I thought, carried the day for us.”
Lowlights were rare, one of which came on Isaiah Bond’s 47-yard reception against the Bears’ zero coverage
“Not too much you can do,” said Jaylon Johnson, who trailed Bond on the play. “Just a beater for that coverage.”
For the most part, the Bears defense took away the running game — holding power back Quinshon Judkins to 21 yards and a 1.8 yards per carry average — and turned the Browns one-dimensional.
When the running game couldn’t get going — the Browns had just two rushing first downs in the game — quarterback Shedeur Sanders couldn’t compensate in the passing game. He completed 18 of 35 for 177 yards and no touchdowns.
“We knew they had a good run game, run scheme,” Jackson said. “And then really just handling business in the air.”
Bears linebacker D’Marco Jackson sacks Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders in the first quarter Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, at Soldier Field. (Brian Cassella/Chicago Tribune)
It’s misleading to say drives got bogged down for the Browns. Most never got started.
Cleveland went three-and-out on five of the first six drives and punted on all six drives. They had a sixth three-and-out in their first possession of the fourth quarter.
As stingy as the Bears were against the run, once again their calling card was the takeaway.
With three picks Sunday, the Bears improved their league-leading tallies to 21 interceptions and 30 takeaways.
Jackson had the team’s first pick, in the third quarter, reading Sanders’ eyes.
“Just got caught in the run, and then on my way out, trying to get to my drop, I just peeked back, and it was a low ball,” he said. “So got my hands up on it.”
Jackson’s pick proved pivotal.
On the next play, Williams zipped a pass to DJ Moore for a 22-yard touchdown to give Chicago a 21-3 cushion with the extra point.
“I think that was a game-changer to me,” Ben Johnson said. “You’re always looking for a little bit to spark your team, ignite your team there, and in the second half that’s really what it was. … We really needed it because we were able to capitalize and make that into 21-3, and it felt like we took firm control of the game there at that point.
“He’s done such a great job coming in (after training camp) … and picking up the defense.”
Jackson’s interception, as well as a first-quarter sack, were career firsts. He received a game ball.
“Just a rewarding feeling,” he said. “Just how we prepare through the week and just to come out and execute as a whole defensive unit with everybody making plays. Like, it’s a great feeling.”
Chicago Bears safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson (35) celebrates his interception in the fourth quarter Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, at Soldier Field. (Brian Cassella/Chicago Tribune)
On the Browns’ next series, Jaylon Johnson followed up Jackson’s interception with his own momentum-turning pick in the end zone.
“They were talking before the snap, so I figured something was coming,” Johnson said. “Just trying to be in a good position to make a play. And that’s what I did.”
The offense drove 80 yards, with D’Andre Swift punching it in from 17 yards out.
Johnson’s first interception of the season came in his third start since returning from a groin injury that required core muscle surgery in late September.
“Still a long process,” he said about his recovery. “Just trying to keep getting in a groove, keep getting better, stronger.”
In the fourth quarter, C.J. Gardner-Johnson undercut Sanders’ pass deep right to tight end Harold Fannin Jr. and returned it 32 yards to the Cleveland 22-yard line.
The Bears lost a yard on the ensuing offensive series, but came away with a field goal, a 41-yarder by Cairo Santos to give the Bears a 31-3 lead.
For the season, the Bears have 97 points off takeaways, tied with the Jacksonville Jaguars for second place and trailing only the Pittsburgh Steelers (98). It’s the most takeaways by a Bears team through 14 games since 2018.
Bears defensive players said they hope to carry momentum into their rematch against the Green Bay Packers on Saturday at Soldier Field.
The Bears lost 28-21 in Week 14 at Lambeau Field.
“Really excited,” Johnson said. “It’s a very big opportunity for us — flexed (by the broadcast schedule to) this Saturday night. So we’ve got a lot to show and a lot to prove, and we got to go get our get-back.
Gardner-Johnson said that more than being excited about Sunday’s win, he’s “more so ready to get back to work. It’s a non-conference win, non-division win right here.
“It’s good to get 10 (wins) — first time in a long time. It’s in the past now, time to focus on Green Bay.”

Finding focus is presently possible. Ambitious Mars energizes your 6th House of Work and Wellness, helping you clean up any messy workflows and commit to productive routines. If you’re called upon to manage a coworker conflict, keep the focus on facts and next steps, since drama fades when you model calm and fairness. This doesn’t mean you have to embrace boredom, though. When you protect your energy, your creative spark is likely to return. Let work become a stage where steady effort shines!
Virgo
August 23 – September 22
Taking your creativity seriously can be rewarding now. As passionate Mars in your artistic 5th house invites playful risk, you might be ready to share a draft of a personal project with someone you trust. Although your own effort still matters, progress may come faster when you show the work and ask what connects. Honest feedback has the potential to sharpen your craft beautifully! That said, remember that you aren’t required to defer to nitpicking for the sake of being agreeable.
Libra
September 23 – October 22
When comfort unites with effort, home life shifts gently. While dynamic Mars kindles your 4th House of Home and Family, you might find that physically reorganizing a room helps traffic flow better and chores get done more easily. You may need to take a break from your favorite hobbies to focus on this, but a tidy base frees time for laughter later. If cohabitants push back, meet them with calm grace while holding the plan. Relationships improve when expectations are simple and promises are clear.
Scorpio
October 23 – November 21
Clarity can arrive once you speak without hedging. Direct truth serves you now as aggressive Mars fires up your verbal 3rd house, favoring firm communication that sets respectful limits. You read between lines, so say what you see, but ask others to confirm. Facts prevent blame and end mixed messages. Tender history may be on your mind at this time, but you can honor feelings and still keep conversations clean. When you state your needs kindly, trust deepens, and tension eases naturally.
Sagittarius
November 22 – December 21
Careful money choices can pay off now. Your 2nd House of Money and Values gets a welcome nudge as ambitious Mars there favors a cleaner budget. In some cases, thoughtfully asking for a discount on a product or service might make sense. However, feeling overly sorry for yourself isn’t a good look. The freedom you crave is likely to grow when you’re realistic about what you want and what it should realistically cost. Once you’re grounded, you can reach for the stars!
Capricorn
December 22 – January 19
Capricorn, you set the tone with intention. A fresh engine roars within as warrior Mars fires up your sense of self, turning resolve into action on a goal you’ve put off for too long. You may update a resume to reflect a new vision for your path forward. Although the financial side of whatever you want to do will eventually need your attention, a bold start proves your desire is real. Begin now — momentum loves your steady, disciplined stride forward.
Aquarius
January 20 – February 18
Releasing what drains your energy is currently crucial. Decisive Mars activates your 12th House of Solitude and Closure, urging you to clear clutter that keeps you stuck. Give yourself a buffer between tasks and people, because your inventive mind resets faster when you protect the pockets of quiet in your day. Although you may worry that you’re not progressing quickly enough, you’re making room for brilliant ideas yet to come. Clear space now so inspiration can return with fresh strength.
Pisces
February 19 – March 20
When friends rally, your ideas travel further. Warrior Mars energizes your 11th House of Friendship and Social Networks today, motivating you to gather people around a heartfelt community event. Your empathy helps you include quieter voices, and a kind invitation can reconnect an old pal who drifted away. Although you may not be in the most bubbly mood, showing up with gentle purpose gives your dream a practical path. Invite support now, and shared effort should multiply good results beautifully.
