AOC Joins Top Dems In Abrupt Pivot Against ‘Antisemitism’

AOC Joins Top Dems In Abrupt Pivot Against ‘Antisemitism’

A synchronized burst of pro-Israel social media messaging from the Democratic Party’s most ardent foot soldiers is raising eyebrows, as even their most progressive members are taking on ‘antisemitism’.

For example, here’s AOC – a vocal critic of Israel, slamming Hamas supporters protesting in a Jewish neighborhood as a “disgusting and antisemitic thing to do.”

Hey so marching into a predominantly Jewish neighborhood and leading with a chant saying “we support Hamas” is a disgusting and antisemitic thing to do.

Pretty basic! https://t.co/Zx4wJPCPfP

Other notables include NY AG Letitia James, NY Gov. Kathy Hochul, NY Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker, and others.

Guys, something is happening,” X user Clandestine wrote in a post, accompanied by screenshots of some of the highest-ranking Democratic lawmakers from the land making the pivot from pro-Islam to pro-Judaism and anti-Hamas. As Clandestine noted, “They are getting in front of something.”

“All the pro-Islam Democrats are all the sudden, in unison, posting pro-Judaism and anti-Hamas posts, after their followers have been screaming “free Palestine” all day every day for years,” they continued.

Maybe one just has to follow the money?

My guess is that Jewish donors are not enthusiastic to fill the coffers of the NY State Dem apparatus.

It’s very funny.

Daily Horoscope for January 12, 2026

General Daily Insight for January 12, 2026

Steady effort may run into tender feelings around commitments. With the purposeful Sun squaring healing Chiron at 3:31 PM EST, we’re braced to confront old sore spots about authority and being seen as a leader. This friction asks us to take responsibility without being self-sacrificing. Instead, we can speak plainly, yet kindly. Later, as the emotional Moon harmonizes with expansive Jupiter, our perspective widens — potentially in response to encouragement arriving through trusted support. Choose steady steps and let them strengthen your resolve.

Aries

March 21 – April 19

Step forward with calm, steady courage. The Sun in your public 10th house squares careful Chiron, currently in your sign. This may stir doubts when a boss critiques you or when you try to share authority. That’s normal, but it shouldn’t stop you from moving forward. Banish it by writing down your goals, then making a plan to achieve them. A measured talk about duties or timelines can also ease tension and prove your commitment. Your patience today becomes the engine of progress.

Taurus

April 20 – May 20

Small wins feel extra solid and satisfying. Your 9th House of Exploration takes focus as the vibrant Sun squares tender Chiron, nudging you to test a belief by practicing it in decisions. A class or a mentor may challenge an old story about what is possible — wherever you’re at, look for grounded proof over outdated theories. Though Chiron in your solitary zone adds privacy concerns, you can solve them by slowing down and being considerate. Keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Gemini

May 21 – June 20

What story are your words building right now? A sensitive topic wants honesty as the Sun pokes aching Chiron, reaching from your intense 8th house to your networked 11th house. Your fears may match those of your community! Consider discussing generational fears with trusted peers, especially ones related to money or personal information. Wherever you’re at, your quick mind can translate dramatic feelings into genuine steps that everyone understands and can work towards. Clear questions reveal shared ground worth building on.

Cancer

June 21 – July 22

Morning chores can steel you for heavy conversations. A fair talk is likely necessary during today’s Sun-Chiron square, as it encourages fair rules with loved ones and with business collaborators. If a request feels lopsided, explain your limits and propose a small change to make it more equitable. Shared projects work best when the roles are balanced. While outside opinions could pressure you, thankfully, your protective instincts can create steady safety without overgiving. Speak with warmth, because empathy helps agreements hold.

Leo

July 23 – August 22

Creativity flows when you slow your pace. The shimmering Sun squares edgy Chiron in your 6th House of Routines and your 9th House of Expansion, asking you to balance ambition with rest so your flame stays bright. If a routine hurts, try swapping a step for something easier. For instance, maybe a different alarm could vastly improve your morning. Questions about future plans can be answered practically by modeling sustainable effort and heart-led leadership. Protect your spark so passion serves your goals.

Virgo

August 23 – September 22

When tension meets humility, useful improvements appear. Practical edits are possible while the Sun and Chiron collide across your imagination sector and your tender 8th house. Be willing to change things — even on projects that are already in motion. Your practical eye can adjust timing so play stays fun while respect remains firm, and you keep the process easy to follow. With the stars on your side, you can repair any damaged trust through small, caring gestures. Tending to the details strengthens shared joy.

Libra

September 23 – October 22

A reasonable conversation can open all sorts of doors. Your 4th House of Caring and your 7th House of Connections are both activated by the Sun and Chiron’s dynamic trine. You may feel honor-bound to negotiate boundaries with family — whether you want to talk to them or not. Roommate issues may also be on the table. Wherever you’re at, make an effort to state your needs without blaming anyone specifically. Being diplomatic can restore trust and help your home feel peaceful again.

Scorpio

October 23 – November 21

Scorpio, your words carry healing power now. The powerful Sun clashes with Chiron by way of your chatter quadrant and your habit zone, encouraging you to address a tricky situation at work or in your neighborhood with courageous calm. Be perceptive and ask questions when necessary, as that’s the best path to untangle emotions from facts and craft a solution that respects privacy. You can move slowly and still maintain your social influence. Speak steadily to keep polishing your reputation.

Sagittarius

November 22 – December 21

Optimism grows when you face tough truths. Your 2nd House of Resources and Values gets tested as the Sun shoves Chiron, insisting that you value your time fairly and price your results accordingly. A friend may want a discount, or a partner may expect unpaid labor — particularly with Chiron in your creative 5th house. Either way, you can explain the real cost and offer more reasonable options. Your integrity grows brighter when you protect your inspiration. Fair terms keep your generous spirit bright.

Capricorn

December 22 – January 19

Early planning might save the day! Around today’s fuss between the Sun in your sign and Chiron in your domestic zone, be aware that your role could shift, at home or in public. Practice brave self-acceptance by honoring such changes without totally abandoning your old self. You can stay calm and show your work, outlining clear next steps, because steady transparency keeps projects moving without unnecessary strain. Stay focused on the path ahead, but don’t close your heart to all fresh opportunities.

Aquarius

January 20 – February 18

When pride stings, compassion clears the air. Your 12th House of Healing whispers to your 3rd House of Conversing as the heady Sun squares vulnerable Chiron, showing where old patterns drain energy and where rest restores focus. Feel free to cancel any intimidating plans — you deserve a day off to settle your nervous system. You might also want to turn off notifications, at least for a few hours. You can respond to the important messages in time. For now, resting is wise.

Pisces

February 19 – March 20

Your softer side is an excellent guide at this time. Group expectations meet tender truths as the Sun squares tender Chiron through your 11th House of Aspirations and your 2nd House of Resources. Be wary of stretching yourself too far! You can adjust a team plan by gently declining an extra task so collaborators understand what truly matters to you. Budget questions may also be on your mind. Your empathy is strongest when you honor your limits, so draw clear lines for your charitable endeavours.

Associated Press

Chicago man charged in Ohio killing of his ex-wife and her husband, a dentist

A Chicago man was arrested Saturday in connection with the killing of a couple in their Columbus, Ohio, home on Dec. 30, according to authorities.

Michael D. McKee, 39, was taken into custody “without incident” in Rockford, Columbus police said Saturday. He has been charged with the murder of his ex-wife, 39-year-old Monique Tepe, and her husband, 37-year-old dentist Spencer Tepe.

A criminal complaint lists McKee’s home address as 2100 N. Lincoln Park West in Chicago. McKee was booked Saturday into the Winnebago County Jail and has an extradition hearing Monday afternoon, according to the Winnebago County sheriff’s office. A search of public records shows he is a surgeon and has worked at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

The couple’s killing made national headlines. Earlier this week, Columbus police released security footage of a person of interest in the case. In a criminal complaint filed in Ohio, police detailed using the footage to track the suspect to a vehicle near the scene of the crime — a car that was then connected to McKee and found in Rockford on Saturday.

The morning of Dec. 30, Columbus police patrol officers were dispatched to the city’s Weinland Park neighborhood for a well-being check. There, police found the couple, who had suffered from gunshot wounds. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Their two children were also found in their home but were unharmed.

According to The Associated Press, dispatchers first received calls of concern, including from Spencer Tepe’s boss, when he didn’t show up for work, which the boss said was “out of character.”

The AP reported that McKee and Monique Tepe had married in 2015 and filed for divorce two years later, per records from the Franklin County clerk of courts in Ohio.

According to their obituary, Monique and Spencer Tepe married in December 2020, after meeting online. They “quickly grew their relationship into a solid foundation of love and respect with a side of goofiness.”

Spencer Tepe was passionate about dentistry, friends and family say, had a competitive spirit in soccer and golf, and enjoyed learning Spanish. Monique Tepe loved soccer, running, horses and books. She was a stay-at-home mother “known for her bright smile, infectious laugh, caring heart, and bubbly personality.”

Monique Tepe was born in Chicago but moved with her parents to Worthington, Ohio, when she was 1 year old, according to the obituary.

“They had two precious children together who were loved dearly,” the obituary reads. “Spencer and Monique were the life of the party, holding many family and friend gatherings. They were generous with kind hearts.”

Jock Landale sumó 16 unidades y nueve rebotes, y Santi Aldama tuvo 15 tantos y ocho rebotes.

Notre Dame says battery allegations against football coach Marcus Freeman are ‘totally unfounded’

The Notre Dame athletic department said in a statement Sunday that battery allegations against football coach Marcus Freeman stemming from his son’s high school wrestling event are “totally unfounded.”

The South Bend Tribune reported Sunday that New Prairie High wrestling assistant coach Chris Fleeger filed a police report with a Mishawaka police officer at the Al Smith Wrestling Invitational, accusing Freeman of battery.

The Chicago Tribune confirmed an ESPN report that university sources do not expect charges stemming from the Jan. 3 incident to be filed against Freeman.

The South Bend Tribune reported that Fleeger exchanged words with Freeman, his son Vinny and Penn High head coach Brad Harper after Vinny’s match at the event. Fleeger claimed there was physical contact as Freeman exited into a hallway, according to the newspaper.

Vinny, a senior at Penn, has signed to wrestle at Cornell. He was not wrestling a New Prairie athlete at the time of the incident.

Notre Dame said in its statement that a coach had been harassing Vinny at the event and that video evidence shows Freeman did not assault anyone.

“Vinny Freeman, head coach Marcus Freeman’s son, was verbally accosted during and after his wrestling match by a local wrestling coach,” Notre Dame said in a statement. “Marcus and Joanna Freeman intervened and removed Vinny from the situation. At no point did Coach Freeman physically engage with anyone. We believe that the police report, which includes video evidence, fully exonerates Coach Freeman and makes clear these accusations are totally unfounded.”

ESPN reported the Mishawaka police department handed its report to the St. Joseph County prosecutor’s office to determine whether charges will be filed.

US Warns Americans To Leave Venezuela Immediately

US Warns Americans To Leave Venezuela Immediately

Authored by Troy Myers via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours),

American citizens are advised to leave Venezuela as soon as possible due to the “fluid” security situation in the South American country, a U.S. Department of State Consular Affairs X post stated.

The U.S. embassy in Caracas on Jan. 9, 2026. Federico Parra/AFP via Getty Images

This warning comes a week after American military forces conducted a mission in the capital city of Caracas to capture Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. The pair has since pleaded not guilty in a New York courtroom to a range of federal charges, including narco-terrorism.

Although international flights to and from Venezuela have resumed, the United States is warning all Americans in the country to take precautions, be aware of their surroundings, and remain vigilant when traveling by road.

“There are reports of groups of armed militias, known as colectivos, setting up roadblocks and searching vehicles for evidence of U.S. citizenship or support for the United States,” the advisory said.

Citizens still in the country should frequently check flight information in order to leave the country as quickly as possible, establish multiple ways to communicate with friends or family outside of Venezuela, and prepare contingency plans for emergency situations if they choose to stay, the warning said Friday.

The United States stated it remains unable to provide any emergency help to Americans in Venezuela.

The South American country is listed at a “Level 4: Do Not Travel,” the highest advisory. This rating is because of “severe risks to Americans, including wrongful detention, torture in detention, terrorism, kidnapping, arbitrary enforcement of local laws, crime, civil unrest, and poor health infrastructure,” according to the State Department.

The United States has warned against travel to Venezuela since 2019. In March of that year, the State Department suspended operations and withdrew all diplomatic personnel from the embassy in the capital city of Caracas.

Since President Donald Trump took office a year ago, he has ramped up the pressure on drug cartels and the socialist regime in Venezuela. As part of Operation Southern Spear, which began in September 2025, the United States has launched dozens of strikes against boats U.S. officials said were confirmed to be transporting drugs in the Pacific Ocean and Caribbean.

Over 100 alleged narco-terrorists have been killed in the initiative to halt illegal drug trafficking to the United States, according to U.S. officials.

On Jan. 3, Operation Absolute Resolve—a calculated, overnight raid on Venezuela’s capital city—resulted in Maduro and his wife’s capture with no American casualties.

Trump also ordered sanctions on oil tankers arriving and departing from Venezuela as part of the pressure campaign against the former leader’s regime. On Friday, the U.S. seized an oil tanker in the Caribbean Sea.

Venezuela possesses the largest oil reserves in the world. Only days after Maduro’s capture, Trump announced the United States would receive between 30 and 50 million barrels of sanctioned oil.

“This Oil will be sold at its Market Price, and that money will be controlled by me, as President of the United States of America, to ensure it is used to benefit the people of Venezuela and the United States!” Trump posted on Truth Social.

The president told Energy Secretary Chris Wright to execute this plan right away. Trump also said oil companies will invest at least $100 billion in Venezuela to rebuild its oil infrastructure to boost production.

Earlier Friday, before the travel advisory was issued, the United States and Venezuela said they are pursuing the possibility of reestablishing diplomatic relations. An American delegation visited the South American country to evaluate possibly reopening the U.S. Embassy in Caracas. The embassy has been closed since 2019 after the United States refused to recognize Maduro as the legitimate leader of Venezuela amid allegations of election fraud in the country.
