Offensive Player of the Week
Junior quarterback Michael Vander Luitgaren completes 25 of 42 passes for 308 yards and three touchdowns for Batavia in a 54-43 loss to St. Rita in Class 7A state semifinals. Vander Luitgaren finishes with 2,708 yards passing.
Defensive Player of the Week
Senior defensive tackle Gianni Casurella helps make six tackles, with one for loss, in 10-7 win over Lockport in Class 8A state semifinals. It sends Oswego to the championship game at 7 p.m. Saturday against Mount Carmel at Hancock Stadium in Normal.
