Chicago Restaurant Week comes to North Shore Jan. 23-Feb. 8

Chicago Restaurant Week, being held Jan. 23 through Feb. 8 this year, is not just for Chicago — it extends into the suburbs as well. As in past years, restaurants can offer a $30 lunch, $30 brunch, $45 dinner or $60 dinner, or some combination of those.

Those prices almost always include three courses — appetizer, entree and dessert — and sometimes four. Typically, restaurants offer diners at least two choices for each course so, for example, a diner could choose a soup or a salad for the appetizer, and a meat, fish or pasta dish as an entree.

Drinks and gratuities cost extra, and occasionally a restaurant will put an upcharge on the menu for a pricey dish. But as a rule, the restaurant menus offer a better deal, price-wise, than you’d get just walking in on a regular day and ordering off the menu.

Here are the restaurants in Evanston, Glencoe, Glenview, Highland Park, Lincolnshire, Lincolnwood, Northbrook, Skokie, Wilmette and Winnetka participating in Chicago Restaurant Week
